I have been going through thief gold and I am currently up to mission 6 the sword but now I encountering problems with rope arrows.I had one problem when getting onto the balcony then when fire in the second one it would seem to disappear into oblivion by after it went pass to rope.But the main problem is attaching to them because I am in the big room and I had so much trouble getting up the shelves to get the water and fire arrows.But now I am stuck on the table in front of the fireplace because the games not let me attach to the rope arrow to climb down.I didn't have this problem the first time I played through the game. Can somebody please explain why this is happening and what I can do about it.

It's probably just placement. Rope arrows can be tricky to get onto from the top. I usually try to place them so they are jutting out as horizontally and square as possible and back on to them carefully like I'm trying to stand on the arrow. Once 'connected' you 'feel' a little bump as your position is slightly adjusted then you can descend. But it sometimes happens you get instant death or instantly thrown away or just can't connect. If so I obviously always [quicksave] just before and then try again by grabbing the arrow back and shooting it to a slightly different place.
If you've been using rope arrows OK up to now then it is unlikely there is any special bug in your system (unlikely anyway just for this.)

Yeah, rope arrows tend to be malicious at times, and it's especially noticable in LBW because you shoot them from very long distances. I'm pretty sure your arrow is stuck in the table at a very big angle? Try placing another one, by standing at the very edge, leaning to the side and shooting. Should be easier to grab this one.

The scary part is I am on the edge and leaning to fire my arrows.The other thing is I have also had problem get on the rope even when I need to go up because some time garret would float in the air for a second then plummet, and when walking you just stop all of a sudden like their was an invisible wall there. The really annoying thing I beat this level before on the exact same system with almost no problems and neither of the issues were glitches or involved rope arrows.Man I hope someone can help with this but thanks to everyone for help so far.

I just made it down from the table but I did not something going down the arrow and this also happens sometimes when trying to get on an arrow is that you some times hop in the air for no reason then never grab hold of the rope and either land back on the table or fall to the floor or in other cases land back on the floor when trying to climb a rope arrow.

If the rope is hanging too close to the wall, you'll have problems. If the rope is not too close to the wall, I'd have to see you play to figure out what's happening. Try to to fire the arrow so the shaft is as perpendicular to the surface as possible.

Its that its close to a wall or anything because I had no problem with rope arrows in the bonehoard and the best place for those in some parts in that mission are pretty close to walls. I'll see if my aren't perpendicular. Does ddfix effect rope arrows because I know I am using a different version than I used the first time.The one I used the first time had a gui installer with the red mercenary guard from T2 on the von braun.I don't know if that would effect it in anyway. Mind you I uninstalled and reinstall several time since that run.
