That's what games like Stolen or Heist are for, or hundreds of Fan Missions if the setting (but none of its themes) is all a player likes. There's no good reason to utterly change the foundation of an official Thief title and strip it of so many fundamentals. Appeasing those who don't care for what Thief is doesn't make sense, and they don't deserve to be catered to.

I agree with all points concerning gloves vs. rope arrows that jtr7 has posted. I liked T3, play it still, but it's an alternate type of Thief game, not really T1/T2. Let's get back to the way it was.
The poll should clearly indicate to Eidos what those who will be playing the game want. There is only one vote for climbing gloves only, and it was accidentally posted by Subjective Effect.
The overwhelming majority want the rope arrow back.
