Rope arrows... - by Palantir

Ha ha! Oh the irony.
And yet, the rope arrows, once mastered:p, allowed one access to some crazy places. With multiple rope arrows you can play Tarzan and jump from rope to rope high above the floor.
Can you carry crates, boulders, and bodies while using the climbing gloves?

I love doing that! I was in bonehoard for the first time and I started to experement with the rope arrows. I lined up three or four to try to get onto a ledge across the way and boy howdy was it fun swingin' around. Oh Oh oh this one time I shot a rope arrow a bit away from the ledge and I tried to make it anyway so I jump from the rope arrow and it looks like i'm not gonna make it but then at the last second Garrett mantals the ledge oh god was it awesome. I was never able to do that again. To say I felt like Indiana Jones the rest of the evening is an understatement.

The whole design of my mission The Great Tree is meant to have a blast exploring with rope arrows. A lot of the hidden "loot" fruits can only be gotten to by way of rope arrow tarzan manuevers

Ooo, Komag, I'll have to remember that.

Is your mod for T1 or 2?

Maybe I just never noticed it, or got lucky, or maybe something changed in our computers.
For me it was a AMD-K6III 350 with the Trident 4MB AGP. I never had any problems with game, except of course for treating it initially like a shooter.
I always thought that the quirks of the physics were entertaining in that they *could* be mastered, with patience and trial and error.
Unrelated, the term Action must not always mean combat, because it certainly could mean lots of running, jumping, swinging, and climbing.

Oh man, when I first saw Thief I too treated it like any old shooter. In Bafford's I rushed the front guards and I was like where's my BFG??? Heh, but that was years ago and now that i've got my own copy (and a brain) I see there's much more to Thief then I first precieved.

Thanks, now I got the rope right.

Thanks for telling me, I'm in the Mage's Towers now.

I basically quicksave before climbing on ropes or ladders. Too often they screw up and leave me dead or making craploads of noise because I got thrown 100 feet or something.
Cheers,
