thanks....so it looks like I've missed a map into the mines, isn't it?
 :) yet I'm stuck with those ropes
Domarius,
whether in this mission we would find a flaw, that's the one you mentioned, I agree: maybe here creativity and difficulty are not coupled with enough information (no one is perfect :) )
but let's return to the point, please: do you or anyone ever remember how to solve the (supposed) end level rope maze and enter the Hall of Mirrors?
Domarius on 10/8/2005 at 16:29
Sorry, never been that far yet, just wanted to rant :)

I'm playing Mines of Margroth, a very great mission! But now I have a problem. I don't want to restart it. I
killed Bantar and want to escape, but unfortunately I have only one slowfallpotion to jump into the escape shaft and die everytime. Have anyone of you a savegame after the fall??Please!!
Christa:confused:
you can make it with one slowfall potion. you need to use the potion just before you hit the ground, you can do this by counting the number of seconds past from when you jumped from the rope.

What a FM this is  . One of the most crazy places I've ever seen in a fm.
I tried Mines of Margoth a few years back but I quit after a half hour or so because I found it too difficult, too scarry and I remember it was a lot darker on my compute back then. But I really want to finish it this time.
Expert is driving me nuts though, I'm really stuck now. The walkthrough tells me to switch a lever, take a speed potion and run as fast as you can to the tomb of Viper VI. But every time I arrive there it's closed. I used the two explosive charges I had earlier to blow up a collapsed passage in the mines, so I don't have one left to blast open the door.
What to do  Stuck or am I doing something wrong?
Tozzifan on 31/1/2006 at 09:44
I made that run a lot of times :)
with speed potion you won't anyway have time in excess to enter that tomb, no mistakes allowed ...

this mission is really frustrating me!!!!
but thinking on the design, the ambience, etc, some time later i'll be remembering it like i remember my favourite FM's, like Sepulchre of the Sinistral, Ominous Bequest, etc., so congratulations for the author, is a good one!!! :thumb:

BOO! (0).(0)
(I hope I didn't scare you...)
Its is strange when people both love&hate your work at the same time =D
About the Vortex and Chamber of Everfall:
When I converted MOM over from T1 engine, The chamber acted completely different. In the T1 version running into an rope arrow cause garrett to bounce (like a diving board which slowing him down). In T2 they allowed it blocked garret that caused him to move off the required fall. This fact combined with the lack of Terminal Velocity, cause major problems.
When I was working on V2 (with the two prequels) I was thinking on removing it. :tsktsk:
The two prequels: FM23: "Fair Game" and FM24: "Hook, line, and Sinker"
were completed, but never fully tested. It offered a few new things (were new at the time) like throwable sawblades, bombs, pop-up turrents, Scopio-turrets, rat hunts, Demon portal, and Bantar riding an elevator during his escape.
I do have all my videos on my YOUTUBE channel: (

YcatX has evolved into Zarniycatx (Zarni: from my MMO testing + YcatX: from my legacy here at ttlg forums.)
Oh, yeah... MOM has to be the hardest. I thought Bonehoard and T1: RTC were too easy. I wanted a challenge. It takes me like 4-6 hours to play MOM. Getting the Guards to fight the assassins and buglady is still quite fun to me. I still smile when I think about the drunks falling down every minute until a guard to assassin kills them...
*Hears a body fall, get up and fall down again*

taff me, this is a hard one  either I'm missing something blindingly obvious or I am going to have to get used to dying on a regular basis ... and just how big is this thing
and this is only the first level :erm: :wot:
d'Spair on 25/8/2009 at 08:45
what do you mean "the first level"? Mines of Morgroth?
