is that you can just almost catch it every single damn time!!!, but get pulled away at an angle every single damn time!!!
I did get it ONCE, but for some reason (my angle on the rope was bad or current was just WAY too strong, whatever), I COULD'NT FRIKIN CLIMB UP!
I would love to finish this campaign, but unless I can get a save from someone, say shortly after they successfully did the bloody "rope of the furiously screaming at the game, at your monitor, at the pc, and making your whole neighborhood wonder if they need to make a certain call to the authorities who have the nice rubber rooms" part, unless then, I will just have to say "oh well, what could have been" ~sigh~, and move on to another of the hundreds of wonderful and not so torturous, pull all your hair out and howl at the moon in a paroxysm of frustation, FMs! :grr:
As for the symbols, I take it you mean the diff paintings, all of which are frobbable?
Well, from what the walkthrough says, I take it to mean (even though there's no way in hell, in all practicality, that they could all have been made followable in the mission), that each one would give you a different path, some even (omG!) more vicious than the one you DO take!, and that somehow each would in some way reflect that god/goddess, whatever! Least that's what I intuit from the walkthrough! :erg:
Just thought of something! For those who are in one of the cult type religions that require one to go through a ritual of self flagellation as part of it's doctrine, to prevent any permanent scars from the ritual, they can just play this campaign - without any walkthroughs or hints of any sort! I'd say that would purify all the hell out of anyone! :p ;) :laff:

Ironically, you don't need to climb that rope. That part of the level is unnecessary to visit. Simply restart the mission and go the other way, over the blue stairs, and enjoy.
And I didn't find the last three missions to be THAT hard. Mines of Morgroth are insane, yeah, but the rest of the missions are tolerable. Even Ashes to Ashes can be completed without the walkthrough.

Mines was'nt too hard, though I did use the walkthrough a bit! ;)
But I really want to see what's up there! :erg:
(sonething about some "machines")

I find Guilded Rivalry to be the most atmospheric and complex mission out of four. It has some absolutely brilliant ideas. However, keep an eye on your objectives list - I had a weird non-fixable bug with mission goals (see my post somewhere above).

HELP! I need the Guilded Rivalry's walkthrough, and there's no more the YcatX's site. Someone could link or past it here?

does anyone have a save (on easiest difficulty preferably but would accept any!) they made shortly after the damn rope in water part that they could send me?

I'm currently playing through part 1 and I'm almost done (now at the part with the Japanese speaking super fast zombies :cheeky:), so if no one else got one for you, I can give you one, but it might take a day or two.

uber cool my friend! :thumb:
And if you can get both onto that $%^#* rope and up out of the %^&*$# strong arse current, then you are either a way better Thief player than me, or just have the patience of a saint! :cheeky:
(those zombs are the "cyclops", take a close look, their one eye IS "slanted"! :wot: :cheeky: :laff:)
I had a ball getting them to fight the other nasties there! Final score, something like Caymen/bugbeast - 6/One eyes - 3, left me with only one of each to deal with myself! :ebil:
(gotta love the hard on that zombs have for EVERYTHING living!)

Okay, thanks to a save from P guy I was able to see that area after the rope!
But, now I am at where the walkthrough blithely says to "go up the N slope" (to a gas arrow), BULL PUCKEY! The frikin slope is way too steep, even the trick of climbing in the "v" only gets you part of the way up! I am really beginning to think this one was'nt ever beta tested cuz it's just ridiculous!
OMG! I did it! BUT, still, I think there is
just ONE spot you can go up and even then, you keep getting stopped until you just finally, one time, keep on in...ch...ing u...p! I mean really, it's becoming more work than play! :erg:

OH NOOOOO! One of my spiders just kkkkkkilled WILLIAM THE TAFFER!
This blasted bull puckey does'nt end!
I jump in the water like I am supposed to, but there's no exit and no ending scene!
EDIT: NVM - I was completely ignoring the waterfall!
