The other thing is that rope in the water tunnel. I just can't grab it. The explanation in the walkthrough didn't help, as the water's moving too fast! Help... :)Never mind about that,
there's only some loot and a few arrow types up there.
YcatX on 26/11/2002 at 12:53
No worries... Yea, Yametha is right..
Above the water/rope is only two gems, and fire, water and rope arrows...
As for where is lab?:
In Guilded Rivalry it is above Guild, past the Deity Wards, Above the Mountain pass (ICE), and near the machines, pyramid, and all the fiends... You can't miss it...
OK, I'm trying to cheat less on Guilded Rivalry than on Mines of Margroth, but here is a question... :)
I missed the conversation between the two thieves that were standing in front of the teleporter thingie. What essentially did they say?
Did it have something to do with the noise that keeps sweeping through the cavern--that crackling/screaming/tornado noise?
Because that is scaring me to death whenever it happens!! hehe
Also, is it my imagination, or do the burricks spit BOMBS at you?!? Yikes!!

Yikes!!You ain't kidding, YIKES! Still the Ghouls still are to me the most scary...

Hmm...for some reason, I couldn't get the quote dealie to work...:p so, sorry in advance for how this looks.
Anyhow...
(re: thieves)
*They talk about the strange noises they have been hearing since Bantar arrived, and *also about the Assassins sent to talk to Bantar (near end of FM1)
Thank you Mr. Cat sir. :)
*Most commented ambient sound: ANGELO BADALAMENTI (I remixed the end for the *loop) When I heard that, I knew where it would fit, and if I closed my eyes I could see *it...
The very first time I heard it--oh, heck, and the subsequent 20 or so times--I didn't think it was an ambient sound at all...I had this horrible picture in my mind of a flaming guy who screamed and swept through the room like a really fast tornado who was going to throw me against a wall and burn me to death!! One never knows what sort of hideous monster to expect with your missions...:ebil: Gets the old imagination going, I can tell you.
*Ummm... which Burricks? Are Shadow burricks spitting Lava Bombs?!? I sure hope *not... Others KINDS of BURRICKS have different attacks.. DarkForce,Ice,LavaBombs
I just assumed they were shadow burricks because they were dark and had those mean yellow eyes, but I didn't know if they could see me in the dark or not because I was too freaked out from Mr. Ambient to notice. :)
Yikes!!
*You ain't kidding, YIKES! Still the Ghouls still are to me the most scary...
They were pretty terrifying...still, I blew 'em up so fast, I got it over with quickly. I just couldn't take Yametha's suggestion to kill them with a sword. Maybe after 10-12 times playing...
Yametha on 1/12/2002 at 21:34
Whenever I hear that ambient sound, although I know what it is, I always cower when I hear it!
To me, shadowbeasts are the most scary.

Another solution for the rope catching problem:
If you still have a speed potion, you can use one of those to fight the current. Best method I found is to fight against it to the point you are near the rope but still can't reach it, and use the speed potion right then.
If it makes you feel any better, I found it gets easier from that point on (although I haven't done the fourth level yet).
I'm at the point of frustration near the beginning of Mission #2. I'm swimming in the water tunnel and can't get a hold of either of the ropes. I can't get near the one at the tunnel's midpoint and can't grasp the one I'm launched towards at the end. Which one do I need to get and how? I greatly admire YcatX's work but after floundering around in the cyclone room at the end of Mission #1 for close to 10 minutes, this new impasse seriously has me on the verge of skipping the rest of the series. :grr:
Yametha on 3/1/2003 at 23:50
Never mind the first rope (there's only a bit of loot and weapons up there). To catch the second rope, just don't touch the keyboard while in the water.
Norman Druart on 4/1/2003 at 03:46
Thanks, I finally got the second rope but then found it wasn't necessary to continue the mission. I'm astonished that YcatX put so much effort in creating elaborate loot areas that nevertheless are completely optional!
