The trick is to use a speed potion, but you don't need to get up there to complete the mission, just Water/Fire arrows and some cool machines with lots of funny switches.

I believe I did what the walkthrough was suggesting to do; not enough details in the walkthrough to be sure though. A speed potion will only help you grab the rope initially. You still have to deal with the bend in it afterwards. The bend causes Garrett to let go when he gets to it, requiring more struggling against the current to grab it again, if you manage to make it to the surface up there. I didn't even have a speed potion at the start of this part.
Sure, it's not necessary to get up there, but it would have been eatin' at me for the rest of the mission had I given up on it.
So even without speed or breath potions, it can be done, as I've found out.

I've found 7 of 8 mystic stones. I can't finish the level without the 8th. Previous posts indicate that they are all in the same place, but I found the black stone quite apart from the others, being close to the cloning machine while the other 6 where near the fire? cubicle/closet thingy.
Is there something I need to do to find the remaining mystic stone? It's the yellow one I'm missing, if thats relevant.
Otherwise, I need to know the key strokes to manually end the level, assuming it takes me to "Fire and Ice".

The yellow stone is very hard to find but it is near the workbench area
if I remember correctly is in an off-set spot near fire. To end the mission
hold down the shift, the Ctrl and the Alt all at the same time and then hit
the End key.

hmmmmm...i've scoured the workbench area and can not find it. I've crawled under the benches and weaved my way around the angular pillers between the workbench/library and that fire soaked rectangular entranceway. Are these mystic balls just deposited randomly?
Thanks for the keystroke command. I will resort to that if I can't get the yellow ball pretty soon.

Have you DL'd the walk-through? I found it necessary to peek a few times to get through this mission pack. :o

Believe it or not, this is the second time I've played this mission, and I would NEVER have finished it the first time without the walkthrough. But the walkthrough doesn't mention the mystic balls. Just a vague reference to "pick up the artifacts in the machine shop" and head for the exit. And I'm not sure what caused those balls to appear in the first place, so I don't know if I did something wrong, out of sequence, or neglected to do something that has yet to do done. Does each ball represent one of those headless demons you have to kill? If so, one of them would be down that very large ramp where the boulders roll down and kill you if you haven't yet triggered them from the other side.

The mystic balls are actually keys. They all start in the same place (on the workbench), but if you detonate the explosive charges, the can be blown to who knows where. Just search the immediate viscinity.
If you want, you can use the gem of Oldorf to scan for it. (remember it makes objects glow strange colours)
