Damn....I forgot about the gem!! No matter, I've manually ended the level and am now trying to remember how to go through Fire And Water. The walkthrough here confuses more than enlightens.

I'm sorry about that... What's confusing?

I didn't mean that as a complaint....the maps tended to confuse me rather than lead me. I remember when I did it the first time I felt I would have gotten farther if I ignored trying to follow the lines.
I went to a previous save and used the gem as a spotlight, but I still can't find the yellow stone. It's not a big problem...I found all of them the first time around.
btw....my loot total carried over from Mines Of Margroth, so I had to use a calculator to make sure I got all the loot. Again, not a complaint, just noticed that no one else mentioned it.
If this is your FM, Kudos for one of the most difficult but enjoyable missions I've played.

It's not mine, but I helped make it, and I wrote the walkthrough. (this includes drawing the map)

Fire And Water would have been very difficult to describe in words I realize. Your approach was probably the most appropiate.

Guildmaster Zilfin has 4 special bejeweled weapons in all:
-The Dagger of Power.
-The Dagger of Greed.
-The Dagger of Chaos.
-The Guild Sword.
You can only get the blades that are included in the objectives and the number depends on difficulty (it increases as you go up). The only way to get all of them is on expert. There are also (
http://www.ycatx.com/thief/iots_roo4.htm) walkthroughs for all four episodes on YcatX's website.
Good luck and have fun with the series; it's one of the very best out there. :)

The walkthrough (ycat) says to walk through the curtains behind the chair... I can see through them, if I lean sideways I can see behind them to another set of curtains... I can thrown the Stone in...
But I'll be damned if I can get Garret to go THROUGH them. Run, Walk, Strafe, duck, jump and every combination of the above... NOTHING.
I'm a little miffed to resort to the walkthrough (something I almost never do) only to find out where I'm trying to go IS where I'm supposed to go, but it doesn't work.

I'm stuck on the same level - but I don't know where you are - I'd like to know cause I'm running in circles!
Anyway, have you tried leaning left and right while crouched and moving forward? I know alot of times when I try to crouch through a small space, I have to lean left and right a few times to "wriggle" my way through - try that!

Actually (if you haven't figured it out weeks ago) you simply need to do a running mini-jump into the curtains.
