Jumping with the E key. That's... different.
Why not? If leaning left-right is mapped to mouse 4-5 then Q-E can be used for something else like jumping or crouching.

With WASD movement and jump on E, try doing a jump to the right.

Forefinger presses both D and E, what's wrong?

I fixed this by mapping run to my W key and jump to my E key (crouch is Q)...now I can run and jump. Helps for those ledges in Life Of the Party!

Seriously? This happened three years ago and today you solved it? :D
I suppose it might have been a keyboard/Windows issue where you can't have too many keys pressed at once? Personally I walk with W, walk with Shift and jump with Space. So I never press them all three at once.

I have the same setup. But when I run I try to instinctivley press W and shift both. But Thief 1 doesn´t seem to allow this and I end up not running at all. This was somewhat strange when I first played the game and took me some time to get used to it again on my second playthrough.

Just tested with TG with TFix and I CAN run an jump at the same time even when pressing Shift key. That is, I can make small, slow jumps :D

I dunno why, but I bind Run to right mouse. No idea how that got started.

I don't ever walk. I only run, crouch-run or creep.

You must look awfully silly going about your daily business.
