I came back to see who is still around fearing to find out who is no longer here. I randomly picked A Short Night's Work as one of the first played on my return. I beta tested Augustine's Revenge & Three Crowns. BBB was a lot of fun and an excellent FM author. He never made a mission I didn't enjoy.
RIP bbb

Sorry to pry, but the idea that there was at one point in time "FM authors local parties" is incredible to me. Some day there should be a write up on the history of the FM community, I think there are a lot of noteworthy things. That's why I love the podcast episodes with Dana Nightingale and others from back in the day.

There is/was a thread that contained Q&A from some of the FM authors. I'll have to do some searching to locate it again, but the questions did involve histories of the authors.

Such sad news. I appreciate this happened last year but my huge sympathy to the family. I had just written to him just last week because of enjoying A Short Night's Work so much and feel it right to put what I had written here for the family to see:
Hi Bryan,
I felt compelled to write to you and thank you for possibly the finest FM I have played to date. A Short Night's Work is masterful in its twists, turns, vast scale, secret doors and triggers. I have never enjoyed myself so much!
You're blummin' BRILLIANT sir!
Best Regards
David - a 57 year old lad!

That would be very interesting if you manage to find it.

We are all getting long in the tooth after 25 years of Thief. I have always admired those of the community who put in long hours of hard work for the enjoyment of the rest of us for no other reward than a hearty, "Well done!"
He joins the angels of Thiefdom and is in very good company. Though it saddens us to lose any of them, their work and memory lives on as long as there is a Thief community. How amazing that it has lasted as long as it has, and it is due to dedicated Thief artists like bbb that it has lasted so long.
Pacem.
