I received news from his wife, Jenny, that long-time forum member ffox (Dave) passed away peacefully in his sleep. He hasn't been active on the forums much lately but for many years he wrote walkthroughs, both on his own and with me, betatested many, many missions and helped people who were stuck. I considered him to be a friend as did many others here. He will be much missed. My deepest condolences to his wife and family.
RIP Dave.
edit:
Dave's wife, Jenny wanted me to let you know that she is overwhelmed by the number & feeling of the postings. It is wonderful to hear how well he was regarded in our community. She also asked me to let you all know how touched she has been by all your messages & how grateful she is for all the fun & companionship Dave got from us over the years.

Oh man that's really sad. ffox tested a large number of my Thief missions and always had good feedback and was a pleasure to work with. He'll be missed.

A great loss for the community, I hope he rests in peace. Even though I didn't know him in person, but I remember his name as it came up in many mission descriptions as a beta-tester and I read many of his posts here. He put a lot of effort into helping others with their FMs.

Sad news indeed. I always thought of him as one of the oldest forum members around here, which gave me hope that I'll still be playing Thief into my 80s.
My condolences to his family. I should also mention that he did release an FM, a reworking of Sabotage at Soulforge called (
