(
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2009/01/12/wot-i-think-saints-row-2/) The port sucks, what a surprise.
Summary:-
* Horrible performance on standard spec machines, bar on top-end GPUs (ie Geforce GTX280).
* No native support for 16:10 and 16:9 resolutions (you require a 3rd party tool to enable them).
* Worse than usual keyboard controls for driving.
* No support for 3+ button mice.
The article explains that aiming is a lot better with mouse (naturally). But I doubt you'll suffer much by sticking exclusively to a 360 pad, because apparently auto-healing renders you pretty hard to kill.

Finally got the PC version today (yay company store!), and it runs a LOT better than I had been led to believe it would on a PC with my specs. (Athlon64 X2 6000+, 2 gigs RAM, Radeon HD3870 512). There's hitching when moving from one city section to another, but it's not too bad, and I haven't had any driving on invisible ground while the world renders around me moments.

Not sure about 16:10, but 1920x1080 was right there in the available resolutions in the video settings, and I didn't need any third party tools.

It's been a while since I've played Vice City, but I'd say the keyboard controls are about on par. Obviously not as good as with an analog controller, though.
THQ kind of screwed the pooch on the launch for this one, which is unfortunate. I was looking forward to running around in Co-Op, whether with randoms or people I knew, but it looks like everybody gave up on the PC version.

Great game, tons of fun. Ragdolling all over the place during the insurance fraud minigame (*stumbles into car* splat *flies a mile* aaaeeeoo *hits another car on the other lane* auuuugh etc) or going all-out police brutality in FUZZ (you are the police, but no halfassed vigilante crap. You ARE the police and can do what the fuck you want even if thats running over 20 people to stop a litterer...with a chainsaw occasionally. Or throwing Satchel charges at skaters) was the most fun i had with a console game in quite some time. Followed by throwing crazed fans (I hate you daaad) in airplane turbines or in front of trains in Crowd Control.
GTA4 was nice with its realismo thingie and story and all but in SR2 theres just plain more stuff to do. Godfather or Tom and Jerry, take your pick :cheeky:
