Hello everyone,
I'm a total Thief newbie, only just started with Deadly Shadows, but I've run into a rather serious problem: I'm stuck. The location is in Stonemarket Plaza, in the part where there's the small grassy area with the statue. (Where you can retrieve gem pieces if you read the book in the stonecutter's room.) In the Eastern part of this area, there's an arch - and I'm stuck in the wall to the South that leads to it. I climbed said wall all the way up and to the East, then dropped down, which trapped me in a small chamber of sorts. From where I am, I can see everything normally, but attracting city guards shows that they can't see me. I can't leave the area, as I'm walled in by invisible walls on two sides, North and West. I can't climb out or jump out either.
Having read some threads here regarding the debug menu, I'm fairly certain that it wouldn't help me, since I'd need something like disabling clipping. However, I hit upon the idea of editing the savegame to change my position, so it would shift me out of there. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find where the player's position is stored in the savegame.
Does anybody know how to do this? Or are there other things I could try? I do have a working semi-recent savegame from a few missions back, but I'd prefer not to lose the progress I made in the meantime.
Thanks in advance,
Gatac

Start over with the nearest save you have. And, I suggest: in the future when you are trying some exotic maneuvar, do a QS at the very least, before you try to jump to the next building :D

I actually did, but in my panic I hit the Quick Save instead of Quick Load button when I realized I was stuck.
I guess I'm too used to games where you can have multiple Quick Saves.

You have unlimited SAVES in TDS. The only limit is your hard drive space.
So you don't need to QS just to save.
Use the ARROW keys to scroll your SAVE file. You will see every save you made from day one in the game (except, of course the QS).
And QS TDS has a habit of sometime getting corrupted. So a normal save now and then is advisable.

I'm aware of that. I'm specifically referring to some games that keep multiple Quick Saves, though, rotating those slots. Helps with avoiding exactly these kinds of problems. :)
Like I said, I do have an earlier save, but it's a few missions back.
I take it there's no effective way to "fix" the Quick Save, then?

Not to my knowledge. Perchance some other will chance upon your query and have the attendant skills and knowledge to give you a definitive answer.
