hi, i'm new to forums and have only been playing since xmas.
i was playing bonehoard(t1) when a zombie jumps up at the start and i practically shite meself and run away from the computer. later in that mission i go into a chamber and step on a pad and arrows come flying out of no-where and kill me! i was petrified!
so that got me thinking what are your worst and scariest moments in the thief series?

You ain't seen nothing yet. That's a loaded question, personal preference too.
Play the Bonehoard on expert.
When you're done with the game, try the FM's, then your pants can continue to get all kinds of stains on them. Oh, welcome.

Well, recently I got jumped at the 7th Crystal (second time, but the first time I skipped to the final cutscene because I got stuck on the maousoleum) and on What Lies Below. Two great FMs to get scared.

Nothing scares me more than Fire Elementals.
That noise they make when they start looking for you...:wot: :(
The way they move...
the lack of any facial features...they are literally nightmare killers with no faces.
You don't want to get too close, cause as long as you maintain a distance you can avoid their fire, but they are comparatively hard to kill after they see you cause you have to shoot straight while under fire.
I have adjusted psychologically to every other enemy of the game, but with Fire Elementals, it is still my first time and I revert to a 19 year old all over again.
I've adjusted by taking them out on the sly, and my aim is true, but I won't pretend that the fear is not there.

Go play "Night in Rocksbourg" First mission........go get that cellar key. :ebil:
It takes a lot for me to jump anymore, over time you get to a point of being desensitized to what is going on. The BOO factor, the in-your-face, I react very little, been shocked to death too many times to count. This.......was different. Thumbs up from me. :thumb:
Hi DrK. ;)

Those and that bloody Fire Shadow, down in that little dark room!
Playing through the Lost City for the first time, I came across that area with the Fire Elementals and all those Burricks...
I hid inside one of the ruins, (crouching at the back, hiding from those Burricks), then I heard a weird noise! :wot: I had absolutely no idea what it was, then all-of-a-sudden, the noise got louder, and then I saw a light! "HOLY CRAP, WTF IS THAT?" Then a minute later, I saw it, and it was just a bloody ball of fire wasn't it? I was expecting something more than that! :eww:
Then there was that Fire Shadow...
I was close to one of the old buildings in the old City, and I had walked over a piece of metal flooring and alerted something nearby! I could hear it, but I couldn't see it. Eventually I found that hole and saw something running around down there! :wot: I just stood at the foot of the hole for a while, observing, then decided to jump down!
Pretty cool stuff! :D

Not that long ago I was showing a friend "Cragscleft Prison" on Expert, I told that the zombie on the ground was just a dead body and then walked up to the zombie, the zombie jumped up as ussual and my friend jumped out of his seat:laff: .
And welcome.......

lol that's mean! But hilarious... :ebil:
The scariest thing for me (at least on my first play through of T1) was in the Old Quarter - my first meeting with an apparition. Their voices still freak me out way more than the haunts. Plus I saw it was a ghost and assumed it couldn't be killed...
