Scribblenaughts: The best puzzle game in years. - by Dresden

So I just picked up this game on the recommendation of others, and holy crap. It's the best DS game ever. EVAR. It's sort of like a mix between a 2D Garry's Mod and The Incredible Machine.
The basic premise is simple. In each level, you're given an objective like "Rescue the girl's cat from the roof". How you do this is completely up to you. Your tools are seemingly infinite. You can open up a notepad and write anything you want from rope to ladder. From zombie to Cthulhu. Or maybe you want a kilt or a block of zinc for some reason. Bam. It's yours.
This is really the most fun I've had playing a game in a long time.

If by infinite, you mean nearly 23,000. Which is insane, considering they got all that (art AND behaviors) on a DS cartridge.
And anyway, you can't argue with a game that lets you (

Man, that looks fucking awesome. I sold my DS because I couldnt hand'e the small screen. You know, goggling around, I found this video: (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTEUbtgpIgo) How do they display the DS on a screen? If I could do that, I'd go and buy one right now. I don't care if it's low res, if I had a big screen to look at i'd like the DS 10x.

I want it and it shall be mine.

I suspect they're doing something (

out already ? O_____O
EDIT : no that's a leak, it's out on the 15th so anyone playing it until then is using a flash cart

I've tried the leak and I've been really underwhelmed, mainly due to an absolutely horrible control system. Levels are quite small and often require very precise movement. Unfortunately you can only vaguely point out where you would like the character to go which is extremely error-prone as you can not estimate the speed, distance and simple behaviour of the ragdoll. And to make things worse, the camera resets after a few seconds away from the character, commanding him to plunge to his death while you only tried to grab a tiny object on the other side of the level as the camera decided to screw you.
Also, some material interactions seem rather problematic (flamethrower not working on ice??) and some translations plainly weird (playing the french version, 'caisse' means crate and cash desk, so why the hell did it choose to give me a huge capitol-like building??!).
When everything works together, the feeling of freedom and novelty is frankly great but right now I've been through too much frustration to simply enjoy it.
I'll try the next few levels to see if I decide to buy it anyway or not.

I generally agree but they don't bother me too much.
Also, you mean those big ice blocks? I use fireballs on those.

Be happy they didn't choose a guy farting !
For those who don't speak French, "caisse" can also mean a fart (as well as a bank, a car or a kind of drum).

Man, fuck that guy for being that smart. Fuck him to hell unless he wants to sell me that shit.
