Was curious about this, so I played with it a bit:
Quote:
starting_mission 10
mission_map 1,2,3,4,5,15,6,7,16,9,17,10,11,12,13,14,18
The way the "starting_mission" command works is that it counts over on the mission_map line however many missions you specify in the "starting_mission" command (in the above example it's 10) and starts on that mission. Also, it skips the first mission (#1) because that is A Keeper's Training. So, skipping 1 for the Keeper Training mission, starting_mission 10 would be:
2,3,4,5,15,6,7,16,9,17
1----------------->10
Mission 17, which is Song of the Caverns.
Likewise, starting_mission 8:
2,3,4,5,15,6,7,16
1------------->8
would give you The Mages Towers (mission 16).
Also, you can rearrange the mission_map sequence in any order you like, and then adjust the starting_mission accordingly.

That just confuses me more.:confused:
Are you saying that putting mission 10 is actually making it start on mission 17? if so, that doesn't make any lick of sense to me. But, their setup is weird anyway, as I said....

Sorry Sneaksie, it was a bit hard to put into words. Think of it this way - it would be much easier if all the missions occurred in order, then starting_mission 10 would actually be mission 10. But since LGS added missions 15, 16, and 17 for Thief Gold after the fact and had to insert them in between the already existing missions, the sequence was thrown out of wack.
Another example. To play Thieves Guild, the new sequence (not counting the training mission) goes:
2-Bafford's
3-Cragscleft
4-Bonehoard
5-Assassins
15-Thieves Guild
So Thieves Guild (mission 15) is actually the 5th mission in the sequence, thus it's starting_mission 5.
