Seconded!

I thought the horn was supposed to be played by the wind. Far from realistic but it makes sense with the sound stopping as soon as you take it.

Could be played by the wind, not "supposed to", but that's not a reason to make it "fabled" or so important or so valuable that six people died in a brief period to get to it. Jade with gold trim doesn't cut it, either. If there's an opening to the outside funneling wind in, and it wasn't one rhythmic progression, looped, you'd have a stronger argument. It might only play when left resting. TDS kinda suggests it's playing an actual tune, not random wind-driven harmonic tones. It is an interesting theory.:)

Well, the notes always go up and down, could be simply the wind pressure increasing and decreasing again, causing the horn to play the (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmonic_series_%28music%29) harmonic series (tunes you make with a brass instrument without using valves). I don't think it'd work, but I think it might sound magical enough so everyone wants it badly. :p

I'll comment on one: regarding an 'infestation' of puppets - there's a limited number of them. One puppet for each patient/prisoner of the Cradle; given that the Cradle is the actual 'haunt', why would there be an infestation outside of the building proper?
It depends on the situation; is the Cradle able to make a puppet out of anyone, or just people with sufficient mental problems? If the former is true, than any person that dies on the grounds of the Cradle (what ought to be a requirement, seeing as the inner fabric of the building is haunted. It has a will of its own, so to speak), what would keep it from spreading its presence across the town? Unless Hammerite or Pagan magic (though Pagans in Thief don't really mind zombies) could harness the city from the Cradle's power.
I don't really like the idea either, though.

I don't think the Cradle idea is that bad. I'd welcome a situation where the puppets gain freedom from the building. They could attack in an organised way, at night in packs. They could attack the weak, the drunk, the people who are alone. There could be this big mystery surrounding them and a lot of speculation (like blaming the watch for getting rid of drunks/homelesses). If our hero gets involved he might discover what's happened, such as being a witness/victim of an attack - then he'd have to go to the source again, without the ghost of Lauryl being there to help him.
It's all workable depending on how much depth you include.

What puppets? I coulda swore I put them out of their misery?

I will only buy it if the game is appropriately titled Thief 4: Taking back Dayport.
:cheeky:
AND if we must play as Dolemite instead of Garrett.

We already had the bow upgrade nod and wink, the Alarus extension would just be cliche and the rest of the ideas are just a jumble of, well ideas. Jumble being the operative word. I tire of these endless "lets have a chat about random and slightly nebulous ideas for Thief 4" threads that this community is so keen on. Its like you having nothing else to do or play. I know I come across as grumpy but we used to have good ideas and discussions around here.
