Aye, maybe - but considering I was mugged multiple times by the "Children in need of another biscuit" brigade today, I thought I better mention that the doctor who special was pretty awesome, well worth the cash I handed over to middle aged women dressed funny. It was also almost worth a night of complete trash on the telly apparently in the name of a good cause, though the spice girls being back on British telly can't EVER be good, and I am sure that it is one of the signs of the apocalypse.

Well that was fun!
bring on torchwood session 2.
I watched the first Torchwood episode with some trepidation, yet found myself enjoying it tremendously. (Fell madly in love with John Barrowman, then out of it again when I found out he was gay, then just plain envied his boyfriend for being a lucky guy.) I really like the way the show portrays the characters with all their flaws intact; they're not made out to be superhuman or dudley-do-rights at all. Just regular people doing a very odd job. Barrowman portrays Jack as a man still confused by what's happened to him and afraid of what he's become; not like some invicible superhero. Nice touch.
Quite entertaining. :thumb:
P.S. Re: Doctor Who. I had a hard time getting used to David Tennant as the Doctor at first, but now find that I absolutely cannot live without him.
So there. :p

I didn't see the Children In Need appeal show but (
http://www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey/onthenight/article_doctorwho.shtml) BBC posted clips to the website so I got to see the
Doctor Who part anyway. I imagine other bits of the show will be showing up on YouTube within a few days.
Plus, David Tennant is my boyfriend, Dia - he just doesn't know it yet.

Regarding how he knew how to solve the problem, it took me a few seconds to figure out the chronological sequence of events - most confusing.
:D

Wrong. I've already made plans to do away with a certain Ms. Myles; thereby leaving the field wide open for moi. It's obvious he prefers short blondes. :p :p

It was a bit like what they did in the episode with those statues that come to life when you can't see them. He knew what messages to leave for the woman because, in his past, she'd given him a transcript of his messages. She wrote down as she heard them, and then gave them to him when she happened to see him. Then in the Doctor's future, he was able to leave the messages, in her past.

Yes, exactly, same thing.

WooWHO! - Well that is Christmas well and truly seen to! Went to midnight mass, opened presents, ate and drank too much, and watched DOCTOR WHO!
The Christmas Special episode stormed along - very cheesy and patriotic, but I'll forgive it; it is doctor who and it is Christmas after all!
Bring on Torchwood and season 4.
Happy Christmas everybody.

I'm a big Doctor Who fan since the new series, with Eccleston and now Tennant.
And recently they started showing Torchwood on Finnish tv; we're at episode four of the first season. Seeing as how I dig Doctor Who, I thought this might be an interesting spin-off, but sadly it turns out to be rather, well -- rubbish.
And what's with the need to insert a gay/lesbian makeout session into every episode, regardless of whether that actually supports the plot or not?
Torchwood just doesn't seem to know what it wants to be.
