Series Three, one too many? (Doctor Who Thread - aka yet another TV programme thread) - by Raven

It's nothing to do with a US/UK split. I understand Dr Who is plenty popular in the US. Probably with rednecks who are their own grandfathers.
More like geeks on tumblr making animated gifs of Smith saying Fezzes Are cool.
My interest in the show had waned a bit over recent years. I could never like the Ponds. And Moffat tends to do these season finales that are both convoluted and handwavy. So it's all very exciting but then I'm sat trying to figure out what just happened - "ok so she throws the magic box into the exploding tardis which reconstructs the universe and then the doctor comes back because she remembers him?" The show sometimes relies on not thinking about the details too hard, just enjoying the themes and emotional impact.
But anyways I thought the special was pretty fantastic. Great banter and chemistry between the three, a decent payoff at the end, and a few nods to the old days.

I'm honestly struggling to figure out where he got that one from.

I don't like Dr Who so I'm taking a joking swipe at Dr Who fans. It's a joke. It's also not making assumptions about Americans, at all.
At all.

I never said "all" you massive dickhead.
Just how dumb are you becoming? If I say something is popular with London hipsters is that me saying ALL Londoners are hipsters?
Fuckwit.

Nonsense.
Your entire interaction with me is tedious these days. All I expect from you is sniping because that's all I've got for ages. You've accused me, seriously, of making generalisations about Americans for years so don't try pretend that you were joking this time. If you display a pattern of behaviour that's all I'm going to see in you. I could almost believe you if after my first protestation of innocence you admitted to joking, but the second one?
You realise that you are just trolling, right?
My standard answer to all your posts regarding me, regardless of what you have to say, is now:
Get lost.

*ignores above posts that have nothing at all to do with Dr Who*
I love Doctor Who and I love Star Trek. I guess the only difference between the 2 is that I love everything Star Trek both old and new (other than that crappy William Shatner directed movie + Generations) whilst as I mentioned a few posts up I like mostly just the old Doctor Who seasons. Quite liked the David Tennant ones however. Only good thing about the current (assuming emo Doctor Who hasn't carked it yet, I haven't watched much of his seasons) Doctor is that hot Amy Pond chick. But a hot chick is not enough to keep you watching a sci-fi show. Especially one as good and with such a long history (one going back to the late 1950s from memory) that Doctor Who has.
Many of the bad guys in Dr Who have lost much of their fear factor with all of the new doctor seasons also. The Daleks and Cybermen in particular were quite scary (for their time) and quite menacing earlier on, but nowadays their more of a gimmick. At least on the side of the Cybermen that has been explained, since they are not the same Cybermen race of the earlier Doctors and instead ones from a parallel universe.
