I'm at a toss-up as to whether to go for Serious Sam Gold or wait until both First AND Second Encounter get the HD treatment and then splurge on those when they get bundled with an according price drop.
However, I am leaning toward the originals for the simple fact that it runs on more existing hardware here at home, not to mention the rest of the Internet. That old Athlon XP 3200+/GeForce 6800 Ultra box of mine has to have a decent chance in a co-op session as well as my new Core 2 Quad Q6600/GeForce 8800 GT flagship-maybe even an even older Athlon XP 1800+/Radeon 9600 XT setup if it can handle it.

If only there were some sort of jointly-developed format for compressing photographic images...

Nah, needs Shader model 3.0. But the other 2 will most likely be able to.
Anyhoo, I haven't heard anything about Second Enc. being developed yet. Maybe if you guys buy the first one they will. :D

By the time I'd played TFE and realised I also wanted TSE, I couldn't find it to buy. I'm just not all that interested in TFE:HD (the original works fine), but I'll happily pick up TSE:HD if they make it (and a bundle of both at a discount would probably warrant the purchase).
Someone spotted some TSE-specific enemies or locations when the first HD screen shots appeared, so I have some faith that it's in the works. I'm just sad that it wasn't a TFE+TSE package from the outset. That would have been cool.

I am, and always have been, a fan of the original games. Serious Sam First and Second Encounter that is, not that atrocity Serious Sam 2.
That said, I just don't understand the rationale behind developing the HD game. It just seems like such a waste to devote all of this time to a remake of a game that absolutely has no need to BE remade. I mean, the original game looks incredible to this day. Especially @ 1600x1200 with all of the eye-candy and whatnot. All of those resources would have been better spent focusing on a proper Serious Sam 3 or *GASP* a new i.p. I would be extremely interested in seeing what else these guys @ CroTeam could whip up outside of Serious Sam. I know I am not alone in thinking that either.
Considering how they knocked it out of the park with their very first game, all of the experience they have gained since then would probably add up to an awesome new title. Even if they stayed in the old-school FPS genre, just seeing what new ideas could come out of that studio would be amazing.
