I'm doing some research for my next FM. I looked for info on this particular costume on google.com but couldn't find anything that matched. I found some costumes that were described similar, such as the long leggings, and thigh length tunics, but not necessarily the hood.
Does anyone know the origin or where I can get info on this costume?

I'm sure someone at LGS just threw something together that looked like something a servant or commoner of the period would wear.

Reminds me of a bellhop without pants.

Yeah, I'd really like to be seen in public in those pantaloons.

I assume this costume is in an FM - I don't think I've seen this in the OMs. Anyway, this seems to be an Early Modern Peasant dress: historically worn by servants, merchant boys or company members in what I think is between 1500-1570. You might want to check Shakespearean dress code for the wealthier city members - generally their tunics were embroidered with silver or gold, depending on status.

Never seen it? It's the only male servent in TDP.

While historical records tend to focus on what the upper class wore, the lower classes tended to wear similar styles within the limits of the law, practicality for work clothes, and what they could afford. The Thief models adhere to this principle, in that the costumes tend to share the same few designs, with richer fabrics and decoration for the upper classes.

Ok thanks everyone for the info. This particular servant is a remake of the TDP version. It was included with Thief II but never used. The servant in TDP can be found in many places: four in Bafford's, six in Song of the Caverns, and four in Assassins. The four in Assassins actually get removed once the alarm is triggered and none are onscreen. The TDP model was crude and had a two-sided face with a flat nose.
