Hell, original T1 wouldn't even install on today's systems let alone play the intro
Not true, I have several installs of TDP/TG on my computer (Win 8 64bits) and half of them are "vanilla" and installed properly. I even have one that's not DDFixed.

Yeah, I'd say my philosophy is closer to Voodoo's in terms of staying true to the original. I don't mind the improvements, what I meant is that I wouldn't like a mod that would retexture every guard to a ballerina in a tutu. I've reinstalled the game from scratch following Voodoo's advice and only installed Tafferpatcher + T2X Fix in the suggested FM folder and use the FM launcher to play.
So any other opinions on Thief 2 Sound Enhancement and Enhancement Pack 2.0? To get or not to get?

I've never felt the need to improve the sounds, but there should be no harm in trying it out. EP2 is good stuff, if a bit work-in-progress at the moment, so you may find an issue here and there (for example, the new healing potion model is white in the mission briefing purchase menu), but if you are not bothered by such minor details, I'd say go for it - the replacements for some awful lowpoly objects alone are worth it.

Not true
Yes true, maybe a lot of us have forgotten "setup.exe -lgntforce", having to remove/modify LGVID.AX, and then learn to write batch files for core affinity just so it would install and let us have ANY, let alone vanilla, experience

Ultimate Difficulty Mod sadly doesn't work with NewDark, since it uses custom gamesys based on the OldDark gamesys. You can still use it with DDFix though, but I don't think it's worth it. If you don't know, what is DDFix, someone else will most surely be happy to tell you, if you are interested.
About the mod itself: I have never given it a good try mostly because of the fact above, but after some quick test runs and reading the changelog, I think it's the way Thief should have been! You really have to be on your toes with it. But it really is a matter of taste and habit, as some like it harder and some not. Some have even said, it having broken the game, as some conversations triggered too early. But I wouldn't consider it a problem as you should really implement different, a more sneaky playing style with it, so all those events trigger properly. So after all, it completely changes the game experience. If it's for better or worse, that's up to you.
Waiting for someone to make .dml version of it... ;)

A shame that Ultimate Difficulty doesn't work with newer versions. I was curious about it.
My last noob question about EP2: I downloaded and dropped it into Thief 2 directory. How do I set up cam_mod properly?
Right now it has this line:
mod_path .\MODS\t2water+.\MODS\t2skies+.\MODS\EP\EPBooks+.\MODS\EP+.\MODS\NTEX+.\patchedmis
My theory:
1) Add a new line that says "mod_path ep2"
2) Incorporate ep2 into the line above somehow.
3) Replace the old ep file with the new one by renaming it and keep cam_mod the same.
Not sure what to do.

Code:
mod_path .\EP2+.\MODS\t2water+.\MODS\t2skies+.\MODS\EP\EPBooks+.\MODS\EP+.\MODS\NTEX+.\patchedmis
should do it.

Thank you so much, working great.
