Thank you..I found the house.
I didn't realise I could use a rope arrow.
Anyway, struggling with the loot, pointers welcome please

Does this mean you had not yet found the Mayor's house when you posted your question?
There are a number of places where a Rope arrow must be used, but the Mayor's is not one of them.
So, you either had not passed the Police station, or had missed the first use (where you found the first rope arrow) and were not even close to the Mayor's when you asked. I'm confused. And if we are confused we can't be of much help.
EDIT: I stand corrected. See following post of mine. Sorry about that.

I used a rope arrow to mantle up to the ledge and then climbed through the window at the mayor's house. If you look close, its a wooden beam there.

You are right LR, I did not notice. But then I'll be playing again so I can take advantage of that addition.
Mantling up was really a chore the first few times through. :)

you know i LOVE your missions!
but i got a big gripe right about now! :erg:
it makes absolutely NO sense to have Garrett be starting off on the second night of a stay in the same place, and all of a sudden he is missing stuff he had when he went to bed the first night! :nono:
like a health potion and an extra h water, a whole buncha water arrows and broadheads! it is'nt like you said he was robbed in the night or anything!
(what, is Basso or Jeni a sneak thief? stab a fren in da bak?) :tsktsk:
other than that little niggling thing,
NIGHT TWO! ohhh i am about to wet myself i'm so ex-ci-ted!!!! :wot: :cheeky:
(gawd, if i ever win the lotto big time, i'm gonna set up a fund to pay grants to Thief Dromeders so they can can both spend more time making these mahvelous things and get a lil scratch from it too!)
very few - and i mean VERY FEW marketed full games have made me this excited and given me this much enjoyment as the really good FM's have!!!!
5 hrs, 44 mins on night one! wonder how many hrs of giddiness i will experience on this night?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- oh that sob Basil! and me w that damned "no kill civies" clause in my contract! argh!
hee hee - i hope they run out of city before they run out of alphabetically alike guards to patrol it!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------so, um - since the lift in his basement don't work now, there is no way into Judge Fowley's place now?
and that balconey off to the right of the grocers in Market Square (with a citizen in blue there) - any way up to it? (no wood for rope arrow!)

You will be able to go there someway, once inside the building.

for answering all my questions!
now, one last one about night 2:
i put Robert's diary on Ophelia's bed, i also cured Ophelia of the plague, but to make sure she got back to Madam Roxanne's i had to knock her out, i then carried her to her room and put her on the bed but the objective never checked off!
what did i do wrong?
Lady Rowena on 13/9/2009 at 01:04
Unfortunately this is a tricky one. You didn't anything wrong. It's just that I thought to have made her to be more resistant to BJ. She should have returned to the brothel by herself and stop downstairs.
You can try to take her downstairs again, and make it sure that you pass through the short corridor at the beginning (the one where the door to Desolaton Row is). Sorry for the inconvenience. :(
