Shadows
This is strange! Ophelia
was meant to return the brothel by herself
, but a tester reported that he
KO her, and trasported her unconscious body into the brothel and the objective worked anyway.
Try
dropping her body in the halloway as soon as you enter the brothel.
I am the tester. Here is my experience.
I carried her unconscious (not dead) body back to her room and dropped her
directly on her bed. I don't think dropping her elsewhere in the bothel is sufficient. I dropped her near the elevator to press the switch. I dropped her outside her room to check the name plate. Neither of these completed the objective. I dropped her on her bed after I had already dropped the book on the bed. The Ophelia objective checked off.
Therefore, I doubt that the hallway will work.
That was in an earlier version, before the final beta.
The book is in Robert's room, upstairs at Mrs. Peacock's (?) boarding house, located above the Dancing Burrick. Robert is in his room.
It is an obvious love note. Getting into the
boarding house is tricky. Post back if you need help with that.

To me, getting to the boarding house was too tricky, and not enough information on that, besides, it didn't make any sense at all. but, oh well, thats just me.
Thief_4
Check the fireplace in the pub, walk through the fire, and up the ladder, you'll take it from there, and find the book you'll need for Ophelia. Unless there is another way up there, taking the ladder up there made no sense at all. But, thats the way it was. I need to quit thinking logical sometimes when playing Thief. :p
i was there already and only book i saw was a red one i took and droped on her bed,it was not it,i read the book and it had nothing to do with love,is the book hidden?

I agree that it is very tricky and doesn't make sense architecturally. I am not aware of ladders in fireplaces in real life. Is Thief supposed to be sensible?;)
You can find a door to Mrs. Peacock's with a name plaque next to it off some square (I forget the name), but the door is unfrobbable. You need a good sense of space to correlate that door with the Dancing Burrick. I think there are note(s) somewhere which say that Robert is staying at Peacock's and that Peacock's is located above the Burrick. I forget the details.
But, for sure, it is far from obvious.

is the book hidden?
No. It is not hidden. I seem to recall the book was purple, not red, but I could be wrong. Anyway, as I recall it is in a bookshelf or on a table that is located on the window side of the bed, on the wall opposite the door. Are you sure you were in the right room? You can BJ
Robert and pick him up just to check his name.

If I wouldn't of read on how to find this place, I never would of found it. The
ladder
was not that easy to spot either. Sometimes you can see them through the
fire quite easily
this one you could not.
Thief_4, look again,
there is the man on the balcony, in one of the rooms looking out, off to the right his bookshelf has the book. Read the book, it mentions Ophelia, and his love for her.
