Fidcal's Log : Day 34 gamesave time 25:00 +15:50-ish. Got two stone keys and one heart but don't know yet how to destroy them as no access back to city yet. Seem to have been everywhere, got the caves gate key but don't recall any locked gate in the caves. Oh well, I'll head back there and scout around again. Maybe I missed it; maybe I forgot it. Mmm... re-reading the clue, it says 'key to the gate which leads to the caves' but the caves I went in had burricks and no gate. There is a kind of fence or gate round the side of the mill near the waterwheel. I can climb up but can't get over it. Doesn't seem to highlight. I'll do a gamesave here just in case. More inclined to think I missed something somewhere. Only one KO seemed essential so far in Night 3. and all for a scouting orb which doesn't work on my Nvidia card. Also I used one water arrow for one heart. Mmm... wait a minute. I'm still missing one heart. Have I missed a door in the mill? I think I must go back in again tomorrow.....

Fidcal's Log : Day 35 gamesave time 25:00 +16:10-ish
My thiefy instincts were right - I'd missed a door. Have now completed loot option and destroyed all 6 hearts and have all 6 stone keys. But where now? Where is the portal? There is a big metal gate with lever in the bandits' cave but I think it's just a dummy. Tomorrow will head back through forest to see if I missed something. Also re-read readables but I think I've used up all those clues.

Fidcal's Log : Day 36 gamesave time 26:20 +16:20-ish. No progress today. Went all over bandit's caves and mill again but can't find anything new. Worked back through forest to area where tree beasts are and sure enough, last of six sisters, Heather I think, is dead. Got inside but nothing new. Only readables I recall are Sonia's diary, and thief's note and that book from Night 1 but nothing in there to indicate where is portal. I was kinda hoping something would open up once six sisters are dead. I have six stone keys but to use them on what? My guess is forest area or burrick caves somewhere. I have a print out from Night 1 by Maya - 'Praise to the Woodsie Lord' so surely it must be centred somewhere where the pagans are. Try again tomorrow.

Fidcal's Log : Day 37 gamesave time 27:00 +16:40-ish. Another session without progress until the very end! I mapped out the forest, searched every crook and nanny (except for roping up every tree which is Plan K) then mapped out the burricks caves to make sure I had not missed a turning. Having already scoured the Mill I wondered if the way forward was in-between the two areas. I had previously found a rocky clearing with some promising rocks and a wall but could never climb it. This time I persisted and finally got on top. Clearly the way forward but there I must save it for tomorrow!

Lady Rowena,
first of all, accept my deepest gratitude for crafting this magnificent mission pack. I really have to admit that it made me stop and watch in awe at the beauty of the locations I had around me, made me scared like no other FM before, also made me angry and frustrated like nothing I've played before. The last is mainly due to just 3 things that kept me from advancing further, but they were quite serious business..
Night One: the wooden structure in front of the Police Station that a rope arrow was supposed to go into.. for me it never looked like something I'd even PLAN or ATTEMPT to shoot an arrow into and you don't want to know how mad it drove me when I was trying to find a away across the river..
Night One: the entry to the Cathedral.. when I first walked around it, I did notice the ramp and I did go up there and I did try to jump further like 5-6 times and failed. Later when I was arguing with myself (having nowhere to go) I merely tried to prove myself once again that I can't go up there by mantling, ran up the ramp, jumped and.. up I was. Now.. you can't say I missed the entry, it just didn't seem like one.. and finally discovering that the trick is to run+jump, it released an emotion similar to a blend of anger and a joy of having something new to explore again..
Night Three: I'm telling you.. everything was okay up until the point of actually killing the Black Sister. I saw the spiders in the eggs, I knew I somehow had to get the red ones to kill her.. (right now I'm talking about those near the stairs and the lock which is opened with the Stone Key). So I shot like every type of arrows on the eggs, felt miserable when nothing happened, still knew I had to get living red spiders somewhere that actually moved.. and finally came here to find out the 'obvious' truth that I had to shoot a rope arrow into something that didn't even seem wooden (no offense). After that, of course, the mission finale was straightforward, even though I failed yet again whilst trying to mantle up after climbing the last ladder up to the city - I fell down, had 1 hp left and all this reminded me that I don't actually have to mantle up ladders. Quite an expressive 'ending' to this mission pack, describing my journey through thick and thin. But I was alive, anyway. Oh yeah, hi there, Basso!
That was just describing my minor setbacks, I absolutely adored the city, all the effects (i.e. fire and new torch designs), all the new types of AIs, all the subplots (I read on these forums about Pinky but neither found him/her nor a way to rescue :( ). And on a last and a very positive note, I give you the most grand thank you that you can possibly imagine for the AMAZING SOUND & MUSIC! :thumb:

Fidcal's Log : Day 38 total gamesave time 27:00 +17:00-ish. Wow! whole new area full of exotic creatures and lots of atmosphere. Found three new locks so presume need three more stone keys. Clue says 'they' have them. If that means those sexy wet nymphs then they don't seem to be carrying them - I examined them very closely :ebil: . Back to gardens and scouted around but no further forward. Gardens - lake caves - three locks area. Where does a naked water demon keep her keys? In the water? Ah! maybe there is some underwater access - but the lake looks shallow. Try again tomorrow.

Hi Fidcal, you have the patience of the Builder itself! :D
Not a spoiler, just a suggestion if you are really stuck:
all you need is where you need it.
This is a generic clue also for the rest of the mission. :)

Fidcal's Log : Day 39 - total gamesave time 29:05 +17:20-ish. It doesn't get any easier. Another day without progress. I've scoured the lake cave and side caves there, and the bottom of the lake (got killed every time but fairly sure there is nothing in the lake.) Recalled that there are three creatures walking the gardens so maybe they are the 'They' referred to in the clue. Searched the gardens again thoroughly. There is an interesting area you can climb up to and looks like a space behind a building I can't reach. Killed and restored one of the creatures just to prove it didn't hold a stone key. If there's anything more in these gardens it is well hid. Back to the lake caves. Spent a long time scanning every surface for a gap or something I might have overlooked but nothing. Then I recalled there are three of those gaseous elementals guarding the locks. The only weapons I have are water and broadhead neither of which had any effect on them. Interesting gap in the ceiling in the centre but I couldn't rope up - maybe one can shortcut in that way later. Also of course there are two portal 'booths' and one is locked so again, probably one returns that way. Tried shooting the gate button with an arrow but don't think they are going through the gates. One of the texts mentions a dead forest. Not seen that yet and I don't see how it can mean the pagan forest which seems lively enough. So, really running out of ideas now and in the 'recrossing same ground over and over mode' but will try again tomorrow. There has to be something I've not spotted yet...
