"magic" door is supposed to disappear as soon as you destroy both the the hearts, so that you can access the portal room.
Are you sure that you have destroyed them? They should disappear with a "puff". Maybe one of them is still on the ground? If so, you can pick it up and try dropping it again on the mossy pad.
If they really disappeared I don't know what to suggest. I hope that you have a previous save, so you can try again. Sorry, but as I said, it never happened before. :(
As for the
"locked area behind the mill", if you mean where the fence is, I put it on purpose, there is nothing of interest there.
I used quick save a lot... so I guess I will have to start over... I don't mind, because this is really fun to play.

If you take it slow, hide, watch and listen, you should have no problems. Don't go running through the streets blindly. Look at all the streets, areas, buildings (up down and sideways). Listen for the guards footsteps. Peek around corners before you jump into the intersections or next room.
This mission has lots to see and places to go, and if you slow down you will live longer. :)

Many new complete single player games don't include as much gameplay.

Hmm small question on Night 3, I havent finished it yet so this is something I may discover later on but I have a feeling probably not...because i did a search on this thread for "tower" and "windmill" and neither shows up what im looking for so its a secret no one found yet apparently...
When you enter the window into the farmhouse for the first time, look to the left, there is a cabinet there next to the wall. If you move back a ways and duck down you can see there is an opening in the wall hidden behind it which leads into the windmill/tower. Is this a secret no one found yet? since no results for "windmill" or "tower" on this thread yet :O
