I really try not to ask for help with thief fan missions, but I've finally came to a point where I feel i've exhausted ever possible option.. cleared out the room with the water sirens, and I see to the right there is what looks like a portal/exit to the next entrance, however the floating sparkles wont let me pass. On the wall in front of them is the same 'lock' that I had to put the white stone into, so naturally, I went back to the cage, hit the gargoyle, and tried to take the white stone off the wall but no dice.
Am I missing something insanely simple? It''s possibly that i am missing it because im trying too hard.

After killing the water ladies a white stone key should appear
in the North pool

Thank you for such a quick reply, and yes, I found it on the back of the rock just before the incline.

Oh dear. I seem to have encountered a bug.
Destroyed the yellow & green hearts, but the objective did not tick and I can't pass the guardian.
Worked all right last time I played, a couple of years ago. Maybe have to give it another couple of years!!!:(

The only savegame I have, apart from the one after destroying the hearts is one where I have already destroyed the green (near the bridge outside the caves), but got the yellow.
