We're allowed a little leeway and can let some "chatty" threads stay in this forum at our discretion.
I've got to admit that we here in Canada get a bit of a laugh out of the panic at bit of snow engenders in some places. :cheeky: But of course, half the problem is that you're not equipped for it and people don't know how to drive in it when it's not around 6 months of the year.

Our big problem is the amount of traffic. The M25 averages 6,000 vehicles per hour.
On the busy major routes the fresh snow is often compressed into an ice sheet before the gritters get there. If one of the trucks then has to stop it can't get moving again on the ice; in a few minutes there is a jam all the way back to the previous junction. Soon after the whole area is gridlocked.
We're only a little island but there are 18,000 miles of motorway (turnpike) or dual carriageway, nearly 4 times the length of the trans-Canada highway.

you lucky, lucky bastards :D
Enjoying some snow here too, for once. But most of the winter time I always end up cursing and thinking I'd better move to Canada because Sweden ain't cutting it snow/winter wise.

Biker: I know why you started the thread in this forum. :cheeky:
Seriously mods, there is quite a strong case for a chat forum other than Com Chat so sensitive oaps like me can post non-Thief related gossip without fear of insult or adult content.
LOL, yeah I avoid CC as there are too many a-holes in there. Digi has said on occasion that he dosent mind us taffers post non-thief stuff-ish in here.....

Gore said just the other day that the entire polar ice cap will be gone in 5-7 years... so I guess we're all doomed, because he's never wrong.

I'm happy - and I'm actually going to go skiing (x-country) on Sunday. Having this much snow is a rare thing these days where I live. 10 or 20 years ago we used to have a lot more - and colder too.

If you start digging around on the web, there are numerous reports that show otherwise. This may be a case of normal climate changes, to mans over hype bullshit reporting to make money and scare the crap out of people. I'll dig and show those reports.

There is one link, I've gotten to the point, I don't believe everything you read that its all mans fault for the climate change. The media usually says one thing, its mans fault, global warming, doom and gloom. What if it isn't totally our fault? What if some of this is natural climate change? You don't hear about that too often. Now theres a concept. This planet has been going through changes for millions of years. It boils down to money, and what the larger corporation stand to gain.
