here's something I ripped from another thread:

all of them in the mansion are invisible...all one the boat save for one...which makes it really difficult to sneak...and you can't kill them or mission fails, hehe).
i even checked my mesh file in t1 for anything strange.
i thought i was seriously missing some story thing of invisible people till someone said "sitting bowman on ship," heh
well, completed it anyway :) the problem was the thief gold patch.

As i have found out recently, i had the same problem with it either crashing or invisible AI until i had found out somehow thief patch got corrupt prolly due to darkloader again, lol, but yes reinstall the patch and try reinstalling the convict.osm file, both have a tendency to mess up if your like me and dont own gold, but with patch and convict i have no problems.

I have re-downloaded and re-installed both the TGpatch and the convict.osm at least 6 times. I even tried the ones at Jason's site. I tried the game again and this time there was a guard I could see but when I pick-pocketed his key I ended up carrying him. He was labled a corpse and had no picture. When I threw him down the game crashed. Also some of the textures are messed up for me. This all sounds like a patch problem doesn't it? Outside of me bying Thief Gold what else can I try? Would installing DromEd help or make it worse?

http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=54533&highlight=shadow+of+doubt) Shadow of Doubt thread will reveal that you're not the first to experience the problem with the embassy exit.
when you return to the embassy after raiding the museum do NOT exit via the window. Instead use the sewer entrance in the basement that Sperry so convienently placed beside the box with the museum key. It took some of us (especially myself) a long time to take the easy way out. After all there were heads to crack & loot quotas to fill.
:cheeky:

I'm just starting on this one, and there seems to be a LOT of blank blue textured items, not to mention that it seems like most everything (furniture, light fixtures) are backwards.
Just wondering if I needed to get another texture pack or somethin'....

EDIT: Yeah, a lot of the objects are missing too... the chandelier in the Embassy with the jewels - I see the jewels but not the chandelier... and a few of the AI's are missing too... I'm wandering around slashing at invisible men!
FINAL EDIT: I got it, I needed to reinstall the Thief Gold patch as well as oRGy's enhanced textures. Works great.

Yeah,
I knew this was old. But I've spent the last year of my free time going thru and playing these FM's, 'cuz after playing Thief over and over, then getting my hands on T2, then T3, I was bored a lot and really never found any game that stimulated me as much as it did... Sure, I'm a FPS master and can play the hell outta Halo or Unreal or Doom3 or whatever, but Thief (and the Dark games) really challenge your mind, not a lot of senseless fragging and what not. Hell, I didn't even know that the editor had been available until I found the FM's.
Anyway, I'm going thru these to get a sense of how to make missions, checking out various play types and architectural ideas and what not, and I keep up on the new ones and play thru the old ones in the time between new missions. Well I got my hands on this one, and I'll tell ya.. there are some really nice things in this mission, but definitely a lot I can learn about what not to put in one. No disrespect intended... but this is definitely a frustrating mission to play!
Fortunately for me the existing threads have answered all my questions, and for some reason I didn't read well enough on this problem either, seeing as though I got my clues from other posts, after doing more research. I did have a hard time getting that patch though, so I am making it available on my FTP server too.
In any event, I'm sure that these forums are probably the most well monitored section of this website, so I figured I'd stir up some old memories and perhaps an answer when I posted.... I'm sure that it's bringing back all sorts of emotion.... sweet!
thanks ya'll

DMLs to fix these issues shouldn't be hard to find.
Also DMLs are really hard to get to work (as in writing them). [and dromed 1 isn't working correctly]

It’s interesting how in 2005 we thought resurrecting a thread after 3 years was crazy. Now we regularly get posts in threads that are more than 20 years old.
