Is there a thread for this already? If so I couldn't find it. Anyway...
This one looks to be quite an upgrade to the 2013 reboot. The levels and gameplay appear to be a lot more open ended, there's a mention of procedural levels, there's a 4-player Coop (other players appear as ninjas), lots of parkour, more blades than ever before and the best shotgun reload animation to date. It's a good year for shooters.
It's coming sometime this year, obviously PC and PS4. (

Eh, my reaction stays pretty much the same as it was around E3:

I'm personally looking more forward to Shadow Warrior 2 than I am to Doom 4. It's got some actual colour instead of that weird piss filter Doom seems to be going for, for starters.
Apparently, it's supposed to be a significant improvement over the reboot, with a greater weapon variety, improved sword combat (which was already pretty good AFAIC), more open less linear levels, etc.
Not really convinced by that tumble you do when jumping down from greater heights, but maybe it'll grow on me.

noo, shotgun was not in the original, now they've ruined it.
just kidding, give me gore and one liners and we're good. and bloody skullguns. Ooh, you have Split Personality!

I still need to play the first one even though it's been high on my queue since it came out. Probably going to buy this day 1 anyway. On a related note, I wonder if there's ever going to be any news on Hard Reset Redux.

Angry Joe posted this video from PAX. It's mainly dev talking about the game so it's interesting stuff.
A small correction: SW2 is NOT coming to XO at launch, only PC and PS4. They talk about the campaign which is 8h long, but you can do sidequests and extend that to 12-15h. There's also procedurally generated wilderness where you can grind stuff as long as you want.
I think it looks really good. It SEEMS to be SW'13 but without all of the stuff I didn't like.

I have been impatiently waiting for more info on Shadow Warrior 2 ever since E3 (I assumed this thread was about to give me some, damn it! :p )
It's looking good. I've previously commented on the Japanese gardens shown in the video, which I think look breath-taking and certainly a step up from the one in SW1 (which also really captured my interest.)
My biggest concern right now is the 70+ weapons they're planning to put in there. I'm all for variety but I hope they can make most of them feel unique and not just something that amounts to nothing more than an aesthetic difference, particularly in respect of the melee weapons.

The new Shadow Warrior was remarkably good fun. If the dev team can go one better with the sequel, I think they're going to garner quite the following.

You know what? I'm actually going to retract my previous (and entirely joking) criticism of this thread. I assumed the video in the opening post was the same one from E3, I didn't realise there was new footage.
Yeah it's looking good. The woman trapped in your mind seems an interesting approach; I get the feeling like her and Lo Wang could both give each other as good as they get in terms of witty banter. ;)

Have they said how open the world is? Is it like Stalker with different areas / quests / objectives? For some reason those types of games really scratch an itch for me that linear games don't.
Vicarious on 5/5/2016 at 17:46
I don't think there's any specific info on that. I hope it's not completely open world like FarCry though. This would mean a lot of repetitive tasks. But it seems there are three major types of activities: main path, optional quests and randomly generated tasks.
