GODDAMN, THIS LOOKS FANTASTIC! Definitely on my radar. Hard Reset was tons of fun (once it had been patched? I played it quite a bit after release, so well after the reported teething issues had been worked out.).

Not surprised at how badass it looks, given how great Hard Reset was, but yeah, it looks great. I don't think the removal of the racism/sexism is going to go over really well with fans of the original game though.

As someone who was a fan of the original game back in the day? I say good riddance. That shit would never fly today. I replayed the game a couple years back and was taken aback by two things: the sheer amount of un-PC stuff strung throughout, and how shitty the game actually was to play.

It still plays as great as it played in 1997, you've just gotten too used to press x to hollywood.

If you were anyone else I'd explain that I dislike the game's overabundance of hitscan enemies with rocket launchers among other balancing issues, but since you're zajazd i'll just tell you to go die in a washing machine accident.

I'm with dethtoll in that the original has not aged well at all and not just in the 'comedy' racism arena. It's got some cool levels and some neat Build engine gimmicks but it's not really that fun to play.
I've been expecting nothing from this reboot, Hard Reset was alright but didn't really capture that old-school feel for me, but this beta footage has got me interested. I'm even liking what I'm seeing of the story. It looks enjoyably schlocky and I like how Wang has been recast as an arrogant young punk.

I'd kill for another game in the Serpent Riders universe (even though technically all Serpent Riders have been defeated). I think a potential game like that should be a new franchise, be what HeXen was to Heretic. That way we'd get a new game in the universe and no reason to complain about changes. Eh, a man can dream.
