Anyone else find the fact they're pretty much faceless extremely creepy?

Especially when you realize they're almost completely covered in cloth, including their heads. No holes for eyes, nose, mouth, or ears. Puppets indeed. Claustrophobia and suffocation.

The worst thing is that I can actually feel for them, imagine how they can feel. Damn my warped mind.

If you sit back and watch how they move for a little while, you'll see that it's not very fluid movement at all - their arms just jump from one spot to the next to the next - like if you were watching them in a strobe light.

The pic I grabbed was of the one up in the observatory. Y'know - I still think the cradle has got to be the absolute best mission in any of the Thief releases; I had to quickly run through the Outer Cradle so I could reach the puppets in the Inner, but . . .

[SPOILER]even though I knew it was coming, I still jumped a little at the banging door running up the staircase to the attic in the Outer Cradle! Although I had faced the Inner a couple of times before, when I first ran across a flickering light - I ducked hard into the shadows and stood still for a few minutes! :D [/SPOILER]

Funny thing about that pic, afterwards, I could just imagine Garett jumping sideways out from the shadows with a camera pointed at one of them, "Say Cheese!" and then running like hell to get away!

The person I shown the puppet image to responded with a "What the hell is that?".

Are the altered textures different?

Also, on a lighter note, anyone tried doing a Shalebridge Cradle Puppet costume? Imagine the possibilities, visiting someone who is a dedicated Thief fan and loved Shalebridge Cradle. Or visiting our venerable null.
