(WARNING SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!)
Ok so i'm on my first run throguh The Sword and I really really hate the guards. So I stumble and dodge my way through to the third floor, extinguish every torch I see surrounding the sword room and end up running out right when I spot a critical hallway. So, thinking what the hey I dash into the hall right behind a guard not caring that i'm making more racket then a banshee and just as I was sure i'd be killled I see a rope. I latch on for dear life and climb like my life depended on it. The guard just saunters on by like nothing happened. So now i'm thinking where do I go from here. I was looking to not engage in battle as these guys are darn tough. I looked around and thankfully I see a nice passageway lined with grass, I go up and find two more guards talking, they dispurse and I sneak up on one of them, he hears me so I stay behind him blackjacking him like crazy as he's trying to shoot me with an arrow. After a good five or six erratic wacks with the blackjack(did the game come first or the weapon?) he runs away to alert the other guards. At this point i'm like ah crap i'm a dead man. So, I jump off the ledge, and at this point i'm right over the sword(which at the time looked like a torch of green fire) and I figure what the hell so I click use and I acutally grab the sword while in mid fall and land in a dark patch back at the bottum of the sword room with only one shild left, and the two guards nearby weren't alerted. Absolutly amazing. So, I used my last two health vials and just ran like a bat out of hell out of that god forsaken place.
I was also wondering what advantages that sword has over the regular one. I just started the cathedral mission and I don't really see what's so magical about it.

It doesn't reveal your position as much when it's drawn, and it's of (more?) use against the undead. Both of these come in fairly handy in and around the cathedral...

This area had to be one of the great highlights of my first run-through. It's cool, amazing really, that you caught it mid-air (!!) and that you didn't alert the guards when you landed on the first level ... landing on the sword platform makes a loud clang, so it's very hard to get it without alerting a guard.
By the way: Did you know that you can take the sword without having to jump on the sword platform (or catch it mid-air as you did), I mean, without having to drop down to the lower level at all, so that there is no risk of alerting the lower guards at all? Can you guess how?

Uhhh, the amazing reach Garrett has when it comes to finishing a mission? It's freaky though, i'll be like six feet away from some item and i'll still be able to take it.

It doesn't inflict a visibility bonus when drawn. That's all.

It might all been an imagination (art thou playing with me, Trickster!) but when playing Return To the Cathedral on either Normal or Hard difficulty (just running through the mission to hear Eye-wavs) and striking a haunt with the Constantine's Sword in addition to damaging them it caused a buff of crimson smoke (otherwise similar to that caused by HolyH2O). Dunno anything other special about it... Well, like I said I might have imagined it all.

Speaking of the Haunted Cathedral, one time I was in a side hallway and accidently made too much noise. The door flew open and there were 3 searching Haunts! Luckily I was able to draw my sword and catch them in the doorway where they would only be able to fight me one at a time and was able to kill them with 4 hit points left.
