I always kind of felt that sword mission was another lost opportunity for thieving. There is a hole in the ceiling directly above the sword and I always figured it would make sense to get up there, fire a rope arrow into the roof above it, climb down through the hole and grab the sword that way. However, the roof directly above the hole doesn't accept rope arrows it seems.

It does! That's the answer to my question I asked above (really the only thing it could be). But it isn't easy. There's a thread somewhere that describes it in detail you could search for, or you could try to figure it out for yourself. But if you want a spoiler:
You first have to be standing above the hole, looking down on the sword. There is a space around the hole, facing up! mind you (if I recall correctly, anyway, at some weird angle), that is able to take rope arrows. So what you have to do is basically hit that little space with a rope arrow so that even though the arrow is facing up, the rope still winds down the hole, and then you can climb down it. Like I said, not easy. You have to hit it in exactly the right place at exactly the right angle. But it's possible.
How do you get up to that ceiling section in the first place? I'm none too brave when it comes to exploring Constentine's mansion. One time I got lost in a series of sideways rooms, yeah I was walking on the wall, or what would have been the wall had it been a normal residence. Afterward I fell into this basement sort of thing and got killed by a guard. Ever since I just stuck to the straight and narrow.
Just as a side point has anyone noticed Garrett never gets paied for his jobs? I've only just gotten to T2 so who knows this time around.

It's been a while since I did this. I know the route to that hole is through the cave system. I seem to recall something like, the part which opens up to the platform with the 2 guards (the one you jump off of), if you look back there's a vine there and you can climb up to more cave tunnels that lead up to it. (or maybe it's from another part of the platform), anyway something like that.
This is where theBlackman is supposed to come swooping in with the right answer.
And lol on Garrett never seeming to get paid. All he ever wanted to do was pay this month's rent...

Speaking of rent in T2 a mission has you collect rent money but in the screen where you buy stuff for your next mission there's no dediction of rent. Maybe it's just the normal setting doing that or the landlord let Garrett slide.

I'll have to try it again sometime then. I think Garrett does get paid for the Framed mission since the messenger seemed to come with the gold in advance.

You know what? I think you're right. I got out of Framed with around 10xx and when I went back to Garrett's place i came out with 20xx.
Here's another story. I was in T2 and one of those attack bots had cornered me and shot one of it's bombs at me, it hit me, knocked me down to two health shields, and i'm like oh noes i'm teh death. Then, after the bomb crushed my ribs it bounces off of me and lands next to the bot. As the bot gets ready to attack again it pauses to recite something about the almighty Karras and then the bomb blows up and takes the bot with it. I crouched there for about five minutes just breathing.
