As you may or may not know Shogun 2: Total War is on it's way very soon and the demo is out on Steam right now. 6Gb DL though, so be warned. Took me a good while to DL (about 1 hr so far and still 10 minutes left).
I didn't really get on with Medieval: Total War but that's probably because I'm gay for ninjas and samurai. I really liked Shogun 1 though and so I'm looking forward to this. I'm unlikely to play the MP but it's all about taking down the battlefield AI anyway.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Loved Shogun and I'm happy Creative Assembly has come full circle to create what I anticipate to be the ultimate Total War. Shogun always seemed more contextually rock-paper-scissors than its successors. The relative abundance and detail of eastern military manuals and battle documentation gives them clear insight into the roles of each particular weapon and unit type. Early guns are an interesting complement to the traditional methods; it's just a fascinating convergence of time place and technology!

The question is what will Shogun 2 have that Shogun didn't?

Bukkake.

An update came out on Steam and I've played it now.
It's obviously very similar to the original, but is much prettier. Everything is just new is all. There are new ways to be diplomatic, to develop your territory, new units, more indepth seafaring etc.
The battles are pretty much the same so far with revamped GUI and some extras like activate-able unit abilities/bonuses. The big difference so far is the castle sieges - a significant improvement imho.
But yes, it's just a prettier Shogun.

Does not work. I downloaded from Gamershell, extracted and ran the .exe. The .exe itself ran Steam on my comp and then started to download another 6gb worth of Shotgun 2 demo. I said "fine"...
After an hour, its finished and installed. I run the game but i get kicked to the Shogun 2 info page and nothing more happens.

How will this work with digital distribution? Should I do it on the screen?

You will recieve a live octopus to interact with when you download the game.
