Why not? Nice detail in the face, nice patina. If you can do it, go ahead. Some of those can look real cheap, not much detail, bit distorted looking. Go for it. Whats the price, if I can ask. Or put it in your garden.

I like stuff like that too. It would add some nice texture, nice element to the room. Usually a pair of anything is considered better. That a consignment shop in the picture? Just guessing here.
Take a picture, when you get it, I'd love to see it.

I wouldn't mind having something like that, but what the figure's holding has me wondering what the significance of it is?

It has, just a bit, of a celtic theme, perhaps. Its not as detailed as some of the Celtic symbols are, its close though.
Eshaktaar on 19/3/2008 at 12:28
It looks like a depiction of several cups catching the blood flowing out a person's hands and feet. Holy Grail, anyone?
xoshade on 19/3/2008 at 13:07
It's depicting the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth. The piercing of the hands and feet around the symbol of a cross and the blood being caught in a cup is a bit of a giveaway.
[EDIT]Eshaktaar - It's probably the same cup represented several times. Some research would be required to fully investigate the piece.

And is it worth it.......

+1000 by all means get it. I would even though my wife would kill me.
Those are hands at the top, and feet at the bottom with stigmata all bleeding into chalices. They are on a shield, which probably has something to do with donning the armour of God from Ephesians 6.
