I would trust BA's opinion on this one.

Ok, I would buy this in an instant whether my wife hated me for it or not, but probably the latter... Anything to constantly remind me of Thief in the late 90's.

It is fantastic. I also would buy it, but not for living room unless you have very very special living room :)
BrokenArts on 20/3/2008 at 15:03
Why not the living room? She can put it where ever she wants to. My living room has an eclectic look, a mix of antiques with contemporary. I'd put it in my living room in a second. Thats a piece that can add interest to a room. Unless that is not your thing, of course. That style isn't for everyone, around here, people love that shit. Hah.
Depending on what exactly its made out of, and the composition of it. I'd be afraid to put it out side. Degradation from the elements will effect it, much sooner than you think. We don't know the age of that piece, it could be a newer piece, made to look old, happens all the time. Hard to tell from just a picture. Still if its a decent price, and she wants it, go for it. Seems the newer stuff is effected much faster, than say the Parthenon, or the Coliseum. :p
I've got some garden type stuff outside, the pieces aren't that old, maybe 6 years old, and already they show signs of wear from being outside, more than they should have.

A statue like that would look appealing to me in a thick garden. I like it.
Ermana on 21/3/2008 at 09:20
My first thought was about garden, but you are so right that maybe it could not survive outside conditions. :(
And about living room... I would like to see some things like this incorporated into modern room. Just I never saw good examples that would look in place.
Anyway, Lucky Hand of Glory, you have a chance to do it :) :thumb:
Ech, I would like to find something similar and smaller for myself too

I think about stuff like that, given what I do for a living, can't help it. :p
A piece like that, you tuck it in somewhere in the living room.
Either next to something, on the floor. I'd keep it out of the way, obviously, so it won't get knocked over. If you have enough stuff, it could incorporate very well into a living room.
It would work with what I have, easily.

But then, that's something to decorate a room around, too, in my opinion. Just think- you could have the Haunted Cathedral as your living room!
BrokenArts on 21/3/2008 at 17:19
I've always wanted a library with a book you frob, open that secret passage. :( I don't have one.
I don't know if I could really handle having the haunted cathedral in my living room 24/7. :p Around Halloween yes.

I am a little afraid that it will come to life in the night and smite me with its mage-like powers. However, that might not be a bad thing. I have about 5 places I could put it, one being the entrace to my place - it would sort of set up the flavour of my house so people would know what they were getting into:ebil:
I am going out to the shop again to see if they still have it.
