Hi. I usually don't come here very much.kinda nervous doing so, but what the hell. You only live once...
At the moment, my brain is kinda fried when it comes to the DromEd editor. So I'm currently creating XG MIDIs and posting some on youtube while recuperating. But I was wondering. So far, it looks like that nobody wants to see 'em. Am I just wasting my time making and uploading these?
If you want to hear 'em just type 0GORT0 in the search on youtube. There should be three songs in the list.

Sure, why not? You weren't expecting fame were you? I've known some quite good stuff to go years before getting a thousand views. I don't think old Dizzy fans are combing the net constantly for the latest in remade music. Give it time.
Besides, didn't you have fun making them? I'm guessing yes. That's a pretty good reason to do more.

Thanks. And yes I am having some fun making these. Right now, I'm currently making another one. It's from The Rocketeer for the NES.
Once again. Thanks for the reply.:thumb:

I put up stuff all the time because I like making them.
The thing is, you might feel dumb spending time making something then not uploading it for others to see. And once you're putting them up, you might want to build an audience on it. And if you're really interested in getting views, then it's not a bad idea to put a little thought into what draws views, and even how to market them. Synch the music with a really good video that matches it, or make a video to match it, hit some forums, put some scripted stuff around it, give it some gimmick, think about what people want to see based on videos already out there...
I put up some stuff that 2 years later has just 200 views, but other videos I thought about what people really want to see and isn't there (something I wouldn't have necessarily done by myself, but I knew it'd be popular), and one of those videos hit 250K within a few months. So putting thought into audience appeal and marketing does work. Just depends on what you're after... And it might be multiple things, make some videos for the fun of making them, and others to appeal to an audience.

Are you the same Gort that used to make those Soundfont packs back in the day? I loved mixing and matching those with my collection of MIDs. Ah, those heady days of trying to make Timidity play nice with random stuff and then slamming your head against a wall when it just. didn't. work. I like that Dizzy theme. Please do continue making stuff, I'm sure you know there's joy to be had in the very act of creating, all by itself. :thumb:

Sorry, I'm not that Gort. I'm just a guy that creates models, textures, and fan missions for Thief 2. I sure will keep at those midis.:thumb:
