That's right - years and at least one restart later, I'm finally nearing the end of Morrowind. I don't actually know when it ends (SO DON'T SPOIL IT FOR ME), but I can tell that it's almost over.
I am the head of the house Hlaalu (and the horator), Master Thief, Grandmaster of both the Morag Tong and the Fighter's Guild. So I still have most of Mage's Guild and the Temple to complete if I feel like it.
One thing I haven't touched, though, are either of the expansions, apart from brief visits. The near-end of the game has been providing some great story details, so I've spent a nerdly amount of time reading the various books I've collected to help understand the plot.
My question is: would the story be best experienced by finishing the game and then moving on the expansions, or by completing both expansions first? I don't want to beat the game and then find the whole tense atmosphere suddenly absent.

Umm...appart from the annoying conversations I don't think the tense atmosphere dissappears. BM and TB main quests are both harder than the MW main quest so perhaps you should do them after. Plus if you are doing the MW main quest than you can always continue. TB and BM's best aspects are they are very different to MW and I don't really think it matters which you do first.

haha I'm glad Im not the only one Aja. I have been playing morrowind on and off for years now, and I still havent even come close to completing the main storyline. I am replaying it again at the moment actually, cos my computer is the beefiest its ever been, and I can play morrowind in all its 1280 glory. Hopefully I will actually get onto the expansion packs this time.

Well I finally finished it, and in TRUE MORROWIND STYLE I believe a bug prevented it from ending properly:
I killed Dagoth ur and Azura appeared but I got no cutscene - rather, she just kinda paused for a few seconds, disappeared and a ring was in her place. People I talk to act as though I've completed the quest, but if my 250 hour adventure is supposed to conclude with a cutscene, i want to see it, dammit!
Waitaminute, I'll bet I know what it is - it's this damn no-cd patch I'm using. Oh well, now i have to get that cd back from the friend I lent it to.

I would say do the expansions first, otherwise being this godly person in this place where the AI hasn't eveolved enough to respect you would be wierd. I got it for Xbox and I just got the Game of the Year Edition, I went up to Solthiem at a level three and still had a blast until the missions were too hard for me. Then I went to Mournhold and, well, everything there was too hard for me so I went to Vvardenfell. But to answer your question, definitely do the expansions first.

I am going to hjave to agree with Saint on that one, the game is a little more fun that way too when you perform all these other deeds BEFORE you technically beat the game.

Thanks, but it's too late now :p
Does anyone have the ending cutscene (and the middle one, too) that they could send to me? I'm not playing a pirated copy, but I did lend the CD away and can't see these movies.
Also, does tribunal have any movies in it? I'd like those too, if they exist.

After much searching I found my MW CD. I thought I found it right away but it was the CS so I had to go swimming through the junk again. Do you want the BM videos too? hmm...Can't see any videos in TB. I can't actaully remember if TB had an ending video or wheither Azura just talked to you without fancy flashiness. Ahh...now I'm really confused, I can't see any video files on it either. Oh it could be in the cabinet file but I have no idea how to open it to extract the video and it is far too big to send.
But anyway, I got you the MW end game cutscene. It is 29 MB so far too big to send via email, but if you have MSN I can send it to you that way.

Thanks, I appreciate your efforts but I think I'm going to be getting my CD back today, so I won't need the cutscene from you.
Thanks again though :)
