In the Museum level:
[SPOILER]One of the Viktrola's (the one near the special loot item on the statute) seemed to play a series of screams. Did anyone catch the significance of this, or did I just misinterpret? The Viktrolas in the museum seemed a lot scratchier and harder to hear than in T2.[/SPOILER]

I'm not sure of the signifigance either, all I could tell was that it was a group of screams, odd murmerings and a bit of "Trail of Blood" 'music'...not sure what it's supposed to mean, though

IIRC, it's supposed to be Karras' last moments, or something like that. Check the Thief: DS Spoiler section, it will probably be in there.

There's a Karras cylinder in one of the Victrolas, but that's not the one. The one with the Trail of Blood music is down on the first floor... I think it's just a nod to T2, basically. Soundclips etc from ToB.

Hope I don't annoy anyone by resurrecting an old thread, but I just got done with the museum level and came here specifically to ask about that viktrola. Personally, _I_ thought it was supposed to be from the cradle! :eek: I'd be interested in hearing some other folks' take on it.

I played TDS on Xbox and due to some bug not all the viktrolas in the Museum would play. However, I think it's been established (?) that two of the viktrolas were Karras's voice, including the one with the screams. Not 100% sure on this, though...

If that's supposed to be from TMA, do you suppose those are Servants screaming? I would imagine that Karras' fate wouldn't have left much time for him to.
Still freaked me the heck out cuz I thought it might've been something recovered from The Cradle, that the developers put in as a cruel trick on us. Even though I didn't have to stop playing the game, or sit and stare at the door, like some folks did, I'd be lying if I didn't say I was worked up in there and glad to get out! Thinking it was something from there freaked me out, like "D*mn! Haunted evil cradle viktora! Bad juju! AAAAAAH!" I also wasn't sure if the screaming was supposed to be recorded in the wax or if it was freaky supernatural noise coming from the haunted thing. :sweat:

I remember the screams... or whatever sound that was... but I couldn't understand what it was (talking? just plain screaming?). It was kinda freaky considering all the ideeas that went through my mind at that point (something like: "no way this is from the cradle... can't be", then "the last thing recorded when Karass died?... neah... or maybe..." and finaly "what the heck was that?")
could anyone post a wav file or something (for us guys that don't have thief 3 anymore and want to listen to the screams again)
