Then post more Commandant Postra-Post.
There are looooads of Giger pieces that lack a penis or 10, or indeed anything phallic. My favourite phallic ones are those where it takes you a while to realise what you're looking at. Most of them are pretty obvious.

Giger claims that he remembers what it's like to be in the womb, and that for some reason it still terrifies him to this day.
Wait, is that even possible? The earliest memories I have, I'm pretty sure I was at least two years old.
Sounds like he's just trying to be edgy by taking Freudian ideas and going to the opposite extreme.

Sure. I remember being a sperm. Man, those days were nuts.

I figure either you're right. and he's lying to be edgy. Or he crafted the illusion over the years so convincingly to himself that he believes it now. OR. maybe he's right and and its some weird thing like in that movie with Anakin Skywalker where he gets put under for a heart transplant but is conscious the whole time. ??
I think it's BS. But some of his art is really cool. The guy has his own museum. I don't know a lot of modern day visual artists that do.

You've got to admit that, regardless of whether he's insane or lying or whatever, his art is some of the most profoundly alien - there is no better word - to come from a human mind. It's almost as if he's some sort of conduit: someone living in a near-perpetual fever dream, plumbing the grotty recesses of a parallel reality that he's been transported to, slapping everything he sees onto canvas when he comes back.

It's also become a (if not the) definitive scifi aesthetic... dark with some weird mix of tech and organic. Maybe him and Star Wars are the two dominant styles. I remember reading some article noticing how much his style gets repeated when there are other styles out there. (Chris Foss was the one it mentioned; bright primary colors, geometrical, big scales).

I believe it's better this way. Bring in a new story world.

While Alien was indeed the jumping off point for this project, out of the creative process evolved a new, grand mythology and universe in which this original story takes place. The keen fan will recognize strands of Alien’s DNA, so to speak, but the ideas tackled in this film are unique, large and provocative. I couldn't be more pleased to have found the singular tale I'd been searching for, and finally return to this genre that's so close to my heart.

Is this the Forever War film Ridleys been bandying about for a bit, do you think?

Considering there aren't any horror aspects to The Forever War, I'm going to guess 'no.'
