How about this then?
Sorry if you've seen it before, it's an old image.
Wouldn't work: Ripley's not in it.
I rather liked Tocky's idea.......... :p :p

Get over Newt you soft headed so-and-sos. She's just there to scream and be inconvenient.
If I wrote it I would have her return the favor by saving Ripley. Not in the same way of course but with a tenacious hide and seek then stand up to ultimate horror long enough to bait it away or outsmart it into something somehow. Newt had to be tough to be the last alive in II. Hell I would have her save the day piss pants scared and all.
That reminds me. In space no one can see you piss your pants... uh because of that little tooby thing to uh... maybe not.

They didn't really camp Resurrection up enough GBM, or you'd be on the money. It was just weak and it didn't feel like it was even in the same universe as the others. It was like Ripley had fallen through some bad script/acting dimensional rift.
A Reboot would be the best thing imho. The hybid at the end of Res was cringe worthy.

Yeah that's partly why her screaming all the time is a little weird.
Anyway, the idea is fine. The trouble is 3. I rather like it and despite its narrative contortions think it's a pretty faithful addition to the series. So the situation isn't quite like Highlander 2 or Terminator 3; where everyone is happy to pretend they didn't happen. There's a good number who'd like to see 3 respected. That said it is the main trouble spot for any reboot (ie, the events of the beginning and the end of the movie). So I don't know. I just don't know. *sigh*

Hah. Never even saw that one. As I said earlier, I tend to avoid bad movies.
Uh... (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1744793#post1744793) no you don't. If anyone on this forum is know for watching movies he fully expects not to enjoy, it's you.
Anyway, Resurection is my second favourite movie in the series after Aliens.

1 "Ok, why not, it's a chance to get out of the theatre."
2 "Uh, again? But the heroine model sounds cool and money too so why not..."
3 "Oh gosh, not again!! But since she dies at least I can focus on something
else after this. And I want to co-produce it RIGHT?"
4 "EGR... I mean you want to resurrect me??? Ok, you lucky bastards, I look
forward to be an ALIEN!"
5 "LOL...LOL... I'M RIPLY FOR LIFE HAHA!"

I liked Alien Resurrection, but I think it was more the cast than the rest of the movie. I've always liked Ron Perlman and Michael Wincott, plus Winnona Ryder is painfully cute, especially for a toaster.
I didn't think Alien 3 wasn't as horrible as a lot of people did; I think much of the A3 hate comes from comparison to the first 2. It's not nearly as scary as the first one, and not as action-packed as the 2nd one. But it had its suspense, and it had its action, and made a passable flick. Just overshadowed by its predecessors. The one thing I really liked in 3 was the idea of the Alien taking form from its host; when the host was human, it was more like a human, when the host was a dog, it was more like a dog.
If they make an Alien 5, I think they should explore this area some more. Like, for example, aliens running amok at a zoo. Imagine aliens bursting from grizzly bears and rhinos and whatnot. That'd be the fucking shit!

I liked all the alien movies so far, each for their own flavor. The second one with it's over the top badass military being the weakest and 3 could have outdone even the first movie with it's claustrophobic atmosphere and no weapons and fuck, what are we gonna do?! But then in 3 the aliens themselves looked so cgi faked, I had to turn away and pretend it didn't happen.
