I want a Silent Hill text adventure, personally. Until then, I'll just play Anchorhead. Or write my own uninspired, late in the day can't be arsed version.

Really sad what happened to the Silent Hill series...Even worse now that Akira Yamaoka has left. His music added so much to the games.
If they were going to reboot it id love to see more of the first person perspective used in the apartment part of Silent Hill 4. It would be really interesting if they could expand on that.

Half of what made Silent Hill was Akira Yamaoka. The other half was Team Silent. Take away either, and all you have is a pale reflection.

Yeah, SH is dead to me, original trilogy or gtfo.

Pretty much. 4 was literally lol terrible to me, and the newer console titles are just WTF.
I miss the good old days of the series. It was truly a huge inspiration to me.

They should have stopped after 3, but Shattered Memories is worth at least a rent if you have a Wii.

4 had a much more compelling story than 1 or 3 IMO, though everything else was a step back.... it wasn't originally meant to be an SH game, anyway. They probably should have left off the '4'. In any case, it was much better than what followed it (though I still haven't played Shattered Memories, but I doubt it's better).

Ok, WHAT? You are most certainly entitled to your opinion but I cannot, in good faith, agree with you sir.

The first one had an OK story, and if you want to argue that it's better than part 4's, fine. I think it wasn't very well fleshed-out. On the other hand, SH3's story was an over-explained rehash of the first part, and was deeply lacking in purpose compared to SH2's wonderful story (inspired by Jacob's Ladder though it may be...). On the other hand, SH4 had characters which were extremely uncompelling (especially when compared to the first three games), but its basic premise was far better than part 3.
