sucks. Complete fucking failure. We need a new horror series. The problem with Silent Hill is that the big concept behind it has already been fully explored in SH2; SH1 and 3 are merely bookends for a larger, but more background, plot thread.

Gonna see for myself, the reviews are very good, and the ice-world is widely considered to be a major succes. I can see an ice-world being very scary and surreal, ice dampens sound,

Dude, I so envy you, it seems you have a rare ability to accurately discern quality of a game based on its trailer only. And, first you say you don't want any re-imaginings (I suppose you wanted another copy of SH gameplay/story, but with newer graphics), then you say "we need a new horror series" because SH outlived itself. SM is essentially different, it's not an imitation like Origins/Homecoming, it's a new horror game for ya, if you want new of course, and not the same.
And try Siren, it's another series from some of original SH creators.

As usual you're being dumb. I wanted a fucking remake of SH1, which is 10 years old and really deserves one, particularly since it was made for the original Playstation and is quite rare, as such it's somewhat difficult to get hold of for people who may not be interested in or capable of emulation. Instead we get this idiotic reimagining.

Yeah, that's great, let's try these amazing "innovative" ideas on either a new SH game (Lord knows it couldn't hurt) or a new horror IP, NOT what's supposed to be SH1.
