Not quite. That singular chapter is MASSIVELY dense, whereas certain later chapters with Navidson by himself sometimes have the text going in weird corkscrews and whatnot, but nothing like the iconic labyrinth chapter.

The footnotes are in the chapters of the old man, his mind is getting crowded and he eventually goes insane. It's the world Navidson entered that is insane, just as the realm he entered the dimensions of the text are changing

I wouldn't say Zampano was all that insane, at least not as much as Truant, who does the collating of the various parts of Zampano's book and falls deeper and deeper into paranoia. There's a very strong Lovecraftian undercurrent to the novel, and I really have to question why one of my Writing for Majors classmates, who based his paper off this book, had never even heard of Lovecraft. I like to think I added a new dimension to his paper when I told him to go read up on Lovecraft, because the house itself (and the history behind it) is not unlike what Lovecraft himself might have devised.

Truart doesn't go that insane, he is reading the notes of Zampano who goes insane, if you look at the typography of his parts it's sterile, he is the main narrative, he is reading the story of Zampano who reads the story of Navidson. That's how I remember it anyway. Anyhow a safe recommendation for the ttlg-crowd, especially Silent Hill and Lovecraft junkies.

Okay clearly you have not read the book in some time so just stop talking now. Go back to denying climate change.
Definitely a great book, though. I blame the Cradle for getting me interested.

Truart is a sex-junkie, typography emphasizes the emptiness of his life, he lives to fuck. He finds Zampano's notes and gets drawn into his insanity but he doesn't lose it himself. Where things get really weird it isn't his actual story, he is just reading it, he is upset by it but these notes aren't his.

I realize English isn't exactly your first language so you probably didn't quite grasp what was happening to Truant, so please stop acting like you know what you're talking about. Alternatively, read the book again. Truant isn't just "upset" you dipshit- he falls deeper and deeper into madness the more he works with the book. Fuck off and stop arguing, you are wrong. Again.

Been a while since I read it you Gilles de la Tourette patient, are you also like this in real life, doubt it. I remember increase of paranoia but the footnotes are made by Zampano.

And also by Johnny.
Seriously, "Gilles de la Tourette patient?" Please, do try to come up with something original.

I didn't grow up in the ghetto, never been in one really never had to, I don't really understand the various nuances of 'fuck' and why it's clever every time. Hardly punishment to reread the book, but I think you got it wrong, all characters have their own 'style' and I don't remember any changes in typography.
