It was a thematic teaser, not a demo of the actual gameplay. The full game would have been closer to earlier SH games - third person, combat, puzzles, all that.
Really? Do you have a link confirming this? If so then fuck Konami then, seriously.
I would've bought a PS4 just for a return to form for this series (and Persona 5, probably. Yes I know it's cross-gen but PS3 one of the worst consoles of all time, it can fuck right off).

Development is cycling between either allowing players to choose to play the whole game in first person or third person, or keeping it fixed third person and having some areas be first person only. Either way we want to do something with first person.
Second option sounds a lot like SH4, now that I think of it. And first option is what MGS V does.
Can't find a quote about combat, but I'm pretty damn sure I read it somewhere :erg:

Having much better exclusives than 360, more user-friendly policies, and selling more units total obviously means it's bad, don't you know anything?

You mean run down a hallway pressing 'X' until you find a door you can open, if there are enemies run around the perimeter of the room pressing 'X' in case there's an item to pickup. Repeat until you unlock door to new hallway.
:p

100% subjective.

Not the case with Xbone thanks to ID@Xbox programme and besides that console generation is over, who gives a shit anymore? Probably 90% of the indie games affected were released onto PC anyway and likely sold MUCH better there than on either 7th gen console.

Playing the "popularity = measure of quality" card, really? One of the most obtuse argument strategies on the internet, go home.
The PlayStation brand is a cultural institution in Japan, Europe, Australasia. A lotta mainstream audience generally buy them on the brand name alone rather than actual hardware and/or software selection.
Objectively the user experience and convenience of PS3 is awful.

I had completely forgotten about my first PS3 dying until your brought it up. I have a burning hatred for the PS3 is because the OS is a smouldering pile of shit when it comes to almost everything internet related.
Eg download a digitally distributed game. Wanna play it immediately? Nope, gotta install it first. So the game is installed now, but wait there's patches available? Gotta install those first before you can play.
Apps for PS3 are no different to games. Patches aren't cumulative and thus aren't included as part of the original download of the game/app. I remember when I first booted Uncharted 2, it downloaded and installed 18 files one at a time. The current version of U2 is v1.18 so it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was actually downloading every one of those 18 patches one at a time.
Why the fuck do digital distribution goods have to installed? They should be ready to launch as soon as they're downloaded. I can perfectly understand if I needed to install disc-based games, but digital distribution stuff? Fuck off.
Xbox 360 has a much better user experience by fucking light years. The only reason I've kept the PS3 around is because of the exclusive games it has. If the PS3 exclusives that I deemed worthwhile were all re-released onto better platforms, I'd toss the console off of my deck immediately.

I kinda wanted to disagree with Eva, but then I realised that the PS3 exclusives I most care about are PS1 and PS2 games that are difficult to find or just didn't come out in PAL territories :p .
Then again, I'm not very satisfied with gaming since last-gen at all, and one of the reasons is that the last-gen Silent Hill games all sucked horribly :( . They couldn't even do the HD versions right.

Apparently there are PS4s being sold on ebay for vastly inflated prices now, simply because the demo (P.T.) is on them.
Anyway, the PS3 and the XBox 360 are both fantastic machines. Yes, the PS3 has some real annoyances, such as the way the PS3 had forced installation of game data (it should be optional), the way each console had forced OS updates (and for some reason the PS3's sometimes seems to take much longer to download, the way (as already said) after downloading something, the PS3 then hard to install it as a second process.
And the 360 had some irritants, too, such as way Microsoft insisted on changing the dashboard (the user interface) regardless of how almost every changed was hated by *lots* of users, and M$ refusing to give us the option to use older, preferred, dashboards, and the way the 360 (like the original XBox) has no on-board battery, so the console loses the time and date if it's turned off.
But they are both brilliant machines, with lots of great games, and I'm not getting rid of either my 360 or PS3. If I do buy a PS4 or XBox One (depending on their exclusives, since otherwise they are now basically just simplified PCs, so I'm not too interested in them), I'll still keep my PS3/360 connected to the TV and play my favourite games on them, as I do with my N64, PS2, Gamecube and original XBox.

How does the PS4 actually handle ownership transfers/user data wipes? Is it possible to play games downloaded with one account while logged into another?
