It's both better and worse than Sim City. There's a lot that needs fixing up, but it has some genuinely interesting gameplay mechanics.

Cool. Might grab it next time it's on sale.

I agree it's great.
Tropico 4 is also up there.
Cities in Motion 2 looks interesting.
I'm more of a Paradox Interactive empire-scale building-type myself. Victoria 2, Europa Universalis 3, Crusader Kings 2, Hearts of Iron 3...

Cool. I like Tropico 4 and I like suggestions. Which Anno is best?

I haven't played the latest game yet, so I dunno how good it is, but you can't go wrong with either 1701 or 1404.

The latest one (2070) is awesome, but it is tarnished by UPlay (Ubisoft's Always on DRM).
I couldn't play it for 24 hours after I bought it due to Some Shit™

After some teething issues, I didn't have any problems with Uplay for Ass Creed II / Bro'hood, so I won't count that as a deal breaker. Will read some blurb and get the one that appeals to me most.

Didn't Ubisoft patch all the UPlay DRM out of all their games recently?

If that's true I may be reinstalling Anno 2070.
