How do you turn off the UI for screenshots?
When you can get in, it's a hell of a lot of fun, they really really shouldn't have done the always online thing, though.
Theres a "Hide UI in Screenshots" option in one of the menus somewhere.
At this point, the always online thing doesn't even matter since the only adverse thing that's happened since the game dropped on my doormat on Friday has been when I glance at my watch and see how many hours ago I should have eaten. Haven't been this grabbed by a game since the last Civ.

Server problems do seem to have cleared up a lot yesterday/today. They even got regional chat working.
Doesn't excuse that the problems existed in the first place, or that your cities are only stored on the server, and that there's no way to play offline at all.

What a mess up. Bodes poorly for the future too. No offline play? Pffft. Glad I'm not interested in this.

Well, I ordered it. Got it for 45e from an online retailer instead of the 59e version they're touting on Origin. This retailer was also the only place I could find a normal version of the game, all other options have been limited edition or super mega deluxe edition etc.

Clusterfuck.

That pretty much sums it up, yes.
I didn't think there could be a worse launch than Diablo III, but EA have come up trumps on that front.

It's such an annoyance as I would really love a (proper) new Sim City to dick about with.
That said, I just got a bunch of new DLC for Tropico 4, so I'll see if that's up to much.
