Is there a way to turn the candles on under the lights archetype? I create them but they don't produce light. I just want a simple burning candle that gives off light, no fancy on off frobbing.

R Soul has a really good tutorial on setting up an extinguishable candle with a flame.

Just ParticleAttach a flame to the candle. The candle needs to have been modeled with a vhot on the wick. The show_vhots command (NewDark only) will show you if there is one and what its id is.

I also suggest that you get in the habit early on of using the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131800) Tutorials Thread. You can find tutorials for most things there (though not everything, of course). That doesn't mean you shouldn't ask questions when you need to, you should, but you should also get used to using the resources that we already have in place. Between the tutorials thread and the search function, there is a lot of information available.

Thanks Tanner, I have and all I could find was how to make a on/off candle which was way more than I needed. I search tuts first. Here is one I can't find in the tutorials, how do you make something un-mantleable? I want to block off a path with junk and debris but everything is mountable and the only option in the properties I can find is to make something mountable , not unmountable. any ideas?

A vhot is convenient but it's hardly required. Particle systems can be given any arbitrary offset to their origin.

Just add Physics\Model\Mantleable and leave it unchecked.

Does anyone know if you can adjust scale/rot/ uv position on a secret door after you apply a texture?
