Many of you have likely heard of this.

It's being made by RPS co owner Jim Rossignol's company. So they've done rather well for a first day listing.
Still, it's actually one of the few games I've seen kickstartereded that I'm considering giving money to. Because it seems like something they were definitely going to make regardless, it's not at all retro and it's right up my alley with its Stalkerish/Day Z ish survival thing going on.
It seems you run around the moors trying to evade a troop of posh steampunk robots and their posh steampunk hounds. Sounds potentially quite tense.
Anyway, feel free to list any other crowd funding efforts you feel are notable.

This sounds like an awesome idea; it sounds quite similar to an idea I had a while back that I would make if I was a lot more talented: an open-world, procedurally-generated Jurassic Park island survival/exploration/escape game. Same thing basically, but tropical and with dinosaurs. Oh well, steampunk robots are good too! Will be keeping an eye on this one.

Nice idea, nice setting.
I'll be looking out for it.
Weird hearing Jim's voice in the video after all these years.

I've been liking the look of this since the first screenies showed up on RPS. But this game will no doubt shoot past it's goal long before the deadline is up, and I'd like to reserve my kickstarter-bucks for projects that really need them. Will wait for release and reviews before picking this up.

Yeah, that makes some sense I guess. There aren't very many crowded funded things I'm that interested in in the first place. In fact, pretty much none that I know of, really. Besides this. Plus my pledging is contingent on it actually getting made, which this seems more likely to do than most as well.

I'm necromancing because I just found out about this game and it looks awesome.
I'm loving the idea of community funded gaming projects based on great ideas and people as opposed to bigger studios deciding what's worthy of being made or not.
Another kickstarter project that looks cool is "Among the Sleep". It's a first person horror from the perspective of a 2 year old. Which I think has the potential to be terrifying because the infantalisation will bring a greater sense of vulnerability and risk than if you are playing as a hefty soldier.

Unfortunately it's quite far off from the goal so I doubt it will get made.

Well over 1/3rd of the way and still 25 days to go. I'd say it's got a pretty good chance of making it.

I really hope it does get there. Times like these I hate the weakness of my currency, 100 ZAR translates as just over 10 US Dollars. :(

I'd forgotten about Among the Sleep - kicked!

The gameplay videos of Sir that were on RPS a few days ago were pretty goddamn amazing. Literally nothing I would honestly criticize, which is weird.
